Monel 400 Introduction
Monel 400 alloy (UNS N04400/MCu-28-1.5-1.8/Ni68Cu28Fe) is a nickel-based alloy, primarily composed of nickel-copper alloy, with a melting point of 1300-1350°C. It exhibits good corrosion resistance in corrosive media such as seawater, hydrofluoric acid, and sulfuric acid. This alloy demonstrates stable mechanical properties and is suitable for working environments ranging from low to high temperatures. Welding can be performed using TIG, MIG, and manual arc welding, matched with Monel body material or EniCu-7 welding consumables. This alloy is mainly used in the manufacture of heat exchange equipment, chemical pipelines, reaction vessels, and other devices, conforming to standards including ASTM B 164 (bars) and ASTM B 127 (plates). During machining, shrinkage allowance must be allowed to ensure dimensional accuracy. This can be achieved through traditional machining methods; however, high-speed machining requires the use of water coolant.
Elbow Introduction
Elbow, also known as 90-degree elbow or right-angle elbow, is a pipe fitting used in the piping system to change the direction of the pipeline. It is mainly applied in the field of plumbing installation. This pipe fitting can be classified into three common types according to the angle: 45°, 90°, and 180°. It also includes non-standard angles such as 60° for special engineering requirements. When the bending radius is less than or equal to 1.5 times the pipe diameter, it is defined as an elbow. The material of the elbow covers cast iron, wrought cast iron, stainless steel, alloy steel, carbon steel, non-ferrous metals, and plastics, and the connection methods include direct welding, flange connection, hot melt connection, electric fusion connection, threaded connection, and socket connection, etc.The main production processes include hot push forming, stamping forming, and plate welding. Among them, the hot push process has the characteristics of uniform wall thickness and continuous operation, and has become the main production method for carbon steel elbows. The products need to undergo surface shot blasting treatment and anti-corrosion paint coating. This pipe fitting is widely used in engineering fields such as chemical engineering, construction, petroleum, power, shipbuilding, etc. It performs the functions of direction conversion and connection of different pipe diameters in the pipeline system and is also known by industrial names such as butt-weld elbow.
