F55 Introduction

Stainless steel grade F55 has excellent corrosion resistance to a wide range of areas, especially resistance to pitting andcrevice corrosion in seawater and other chloride containing environments, with critical pitting temperature that is more than 50°C(122°F). This material is known to also have high strength and extended lifecycle. It is 10% lighter than grade 316 steel,ideal for sub zero service, and more cost effective than nickel alloys. Stainless steel grade F55 can be easily machined and welded. The following datasheet provides an overview of stainless steel grade F55.

1. Raw material selection: Choose qualified carbon steel, stainless steel or alloy steel pipe/bar.

2. Cutting & blanking: Cut raw materials into fixed-length blanks by CNC cutting machine.

3. Forging forming: Forge blanks into rough shape of weldolet body andextended forging press.

4. Machining: Precision machine outer diameter, inner hole, sealing surface and thread (if needed)by CNC lathe/milling machine.

5. Beveling: Process welding bevels on connecting ports for stable welding.

6. Deburring: Removeburrs, flash and sharp edges from workpieces.

7. Heat treatment: Conduct quenching, tempering or annealing to improve mechanicalproperties.

8. Surface treatment: Perform anti-corrosion processing (galvanizing, pickling passivation, coating) as required.

9.Inspection: Carry out dimension measurement, appearance check and non-destructive testing.

10. Packaging: Pack qualified productswith protective materials for delivery.
