1. Raw Material Preparation Select stainless steel round bar or seamless steel pipe that meets the standard requirements as the base material, and conduct chemical composition and mechanical property testing to ensure it conforms to the product specification. 2. Cutting & Blank Making Use a sawing machine or CNC cutting equipment to cut the raw material into blanks of specified length according to the size of the socket weld coupling, and remove the burrs at the cutting port.
3. Heating & Forging
Heat the blank to the forging temperature in an intermediate frequency heating furnace, then put it into a special forging die, and form the preliminary shape of the coupling through a hydraulic press or forging hammer, including the basic structure of the socket end and the middle connecting section.
4. Precision Machining
- Turning: Clamp the forged blank on a CNC lathe, machine the outer circle, inner hole, socket end step, and end face to the designed size, and ensure the dimensional tolerance and surface roughness meet the requirements.
- Thread Processing (if required): For coupling products with threaded structures, process the internal or external threads through a thread turning tool or tapping machine.
- Chamfering & Deburring: Chamfer the sharp edges of the product port to avoid sharp corners, and remove the machining burrs to ensure the surface is smooth.
5. Socket Weld End Processing Machine the socket end of the coupling to the specified socket depth and diameter according to the standard, and ensure the fit accuracy with the inserted pipe to meet the welding requirements.
6. Heat Treatment Put the machined coupling into a heat treatment furnace for annealing or normalizing treatment to eliminate the internal stress generated during forging and machining, improve the mechanical properties of the product, and enhance its toughness and corrosion resistance.
7. Surface Treatment Carry out surface treatment according to customer requirements, such as pickling and passivation (to improve the corrosion resistance of stainless steel), sandblasting (to obtain a uniform matte surface), or electroplating (to enhance the surface wear resistance).
8.Inspection & Testing - Dimensional Inspection: Use calipers, micrometers, plug gauges and other measuring tools to inspect the keydimensions of the product to ensure compliance with the drawing requirements.
- Non-destructive Testing: Conduct ultrasonic testing or magnetic particle testing on the product to check for internal or surface defects such as cracks and inclusions.
- Pressure Testing: For pressure-bearing coupling products, conduct hydraulic pressure testing according to the standard to verify the pressure resistance and sealing performance of the product.
9. Cleaning & Packaging Clean the qualified products to remove surface oil stains and impurities, then carry out anti-rust packaging (such as anti-rust paper wrapping), and finally pack them into cartons or wooden cases, and mark the product model, specification, batch number and other information.
10. Warehousing & Delivery Transport the packaged socket weld couplings to the finished product warehouse for storage, and arrange delivery according to the customer's order requirements.
