316 Stainless Steel Introduction:Grade 316 is the standard molybdenum-bearing grade, second in importance to 304 amongst the austenitic stainless steels. The molybdenum gives 316 better overall corrosion resistant properties than Grade 304, particularly higher resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion in chloride environments. It has excellent forming and welding characteristics. It is readily brake or roll formed into a variety of parts for applications in the industrial, architectural, and transportation fields. Grade 316 also has outstanding welding characteristics. Post-weld annealing is not required when welding thin sections.Grade 316L, the low carbon version of 316 and is immune from sensitisation (grain boundary carbide precipitation). Thus it is extensively used in heavy gauge welded components (over about 6mm). Grade 316H, with its higher carbon content has application at elevated temperatures, as does stabilised grade 316Ti.The austenitic structure also gives these grades excellent toughness, even down to cryogenic temperatures.316 Stainless Steel Applications:Food preparation equipment particularly in chloride environments.Laboratory benches & equipment.Coastal architectural panelling, railings & trim.Boat fittings.Chemical containers, including for transport.Heat Exchangers.Woven or welded screens for mining, quarrying & water filtration.Threaded fasteners.Springs.
316 Stainless Steel BW Elbow Introduction:
Butt-welded elbows are key pipe fittings in piping systems used to connect pipes of the same diameter and change the direction of fluid flow. They form a continuous channel by butt welding to the pipe at both ends, offering core advantages such as high connection strength, good sealing performance, and low fluid resistance. They can withstand harsh conditions such as high pressure, high temperature, and corrosive environments. Their manufacturing processes include various methods such as push forming, extrusion, and forging. Based on the bending radius, they can be divided into two categories: long radius (R=1.5D) and short radius (R=1D). Common angles include 45°, 90°, and 180°, and custom angles can also be customized to meet specific needs. Materials include carbon steel, stainless steel, alloy steel, and low-temperature steel, among others, to match the application requirements of different industries. As an important component in the industrial field, butt-welded elbows are widely used in key areas such as oil and gas transportation, petrochemicals, power, shipbuilding, and municipal engineering. Manufacturing and quality control follow domestic and international standards such as GB/T 12459, ASME B16.9, and EN 10253. Non-destructive testing such as radiography and ultrasound is used to ensure the quality of the weld and the base material, providing a reliable guarantee for the long-term stable operation of pipeline systems.
