1. Raw Material Selection and PretreatmentPrioritize the use of 316 stainless steel sheets/profiles that meet industrial standards and are free of oxidation and impurities to ensure the base material possesses excellent corrosion resistance, tensile strength, and chemical stability. Verify the material certificate of the raw materials to avoid mixing with other grades of stainless steel such as 304, which could affect the corrosion resistance of the finished product. First, clean the surface of the raw materials to remove oil and rust. Do not use strong acids or alkalis during cleaning to prevent corrosion of the base material. Then, precisely cut the raw materials according to the finished product specifications to create blanks suitable for subsequent processes. After cutting, check the flatness of the cut edges to establish a solid foundation for bending processing.2. CNC Programming and Parameter AdjustmentProgram the CNC bending machine according to the CAD drawings, inputting core parameters such as bending angle, radius, and positioning dimensions. Optimize the bending path based on the ductility of 316 stainless steel to avoid cracking or deformation due to excessive stress. Note that a springback allowance must be made during programming (the springback rate of 316 stainless steel is slightly higher than that of ordinary steel) to ensure accurate finished product dimensions. After programming, trial runs and debugging are performed. The accuracy of parameters is verified through small-sample bending. Pressure, speed, and other indicators are fine-tuned. During debugging, the material's stress state must be observed throughout the process. Overpressure testing is prohibited to ensure bending accuracy is controlled within tolerance limits.3. Precision CNC BendingThe pre-treated blank is fixed on the CNC bending machine's worktable. Precise positioning is achieved using automated fixtures. The fixture pressure must be moderate to avoid damaging the substrate surface, while ensuring no positioning deviation to prevent bending misalignment. The machine is started and the bending operation is completed according to the preset program. The stress state and forming effect are monitored in real time during processing. Deviations are corrected promptly using the machine's built-in precision detection module. During bending, touching moving parts is prohibited; safety precautions are taken to ensure uniform bending angles and dimensions for each product, meeting subsequent assembly requirements.4. Post-processingAfter bending, the workpiece is deburred, and sharp edges are ground to prevent scratches or assembly issues during use. Special stainless steel grinding tools must be used to avoid introducing iron filings and impurities that could cause rust. Depending on the actual application scenario, surface passivation and polishing processes can be selectively performed. Passivation treatment requires careful control of reagent concentration and treatment time, while polishing should avoid over-grinding that could lead to insufficient substrate thickness. This process further enhances the corrosion resistance and appearance of 316 stainless steel while removing the oxide layer generated during processing, preserving the material's inherent metallic luster.5. Quality Inspection and ShipmentUsing professional tools such as calipers, angle meters, and flaw detection equipment, finished products undergo comprehensive inspection to verify dimensional accuracy, bending angles, surface quality, and material properties. Inspection must cover every batch of finished products. For components used in high-end fields such as marine and medical applications, additional corrosion resistance testing is required. Unqualified products are strictly rejected; unqualified parts must be stored separately and labeled, and must not be mixed with qualified batches. After passing inspection, products are classified, packaged, and protected with appropriate protective measures. Packaging materials must be dust-free and non-corrosive to prevent damage and secondary contamination during transportation. The final product is delivered to the customer, meeting the stringent requirements of marine, medical, and food processing industries.
