Product processing
Butt welding olets (weldolets) are manufactured by hot or cold forming (forging) raw material—typically steel (UNS S13800)followed by machining to create a self-reinforced, beveled, 90-degree branch connection. They are designed for high-pressure applications, offering strength through specific, optimized shapes and are regulated by ASME B31.3 codes.
Production Process Steps:
* Raw Material Preparation: The process begins with special stainless steel (UNS S13800) .
* Forming/Forging: The material is heated and formed (hot or cold) using dies to create the contoured shape, which acts as a reinforced branch fitting.
* Machining: The forged piece is machined to exact dimensions. This includes creating the beveled end, which is essential for the butt-weld connection.
* Heat Treatment: To relieve residual stress and enhance mechanical properties (hardness/strength), the fitting undergoes heat treatment.
* Inspection and Finishing: The finished weldolets are subjected to inspections, including dimensional checks, material testing, and NDT (Non-Destructive Testing) before being coated or finished.
