TC4 titanium alloy, also known as Ti-6Al-4V, is a widely used α-β titanium alloy that consists of two phases: the α phase (alpha) and the β phase (beta). This alloy contains approximately 6% aluminum (Al), which stabilizes the α phase, and 4% vanadium (V), which stabilizes the β phase. TC4 is renowned for its excellent combination of mechanical properties, corrosion resistance, and good weldability, making it ideal for applications in demanding industries like aerospace and aviation.

Titanium Alloy Flange Nut Produce Processing

1. Raw Material Preparation

Select qualified titanium alloy ingots: Ti-6Al-4V (Grade 5), Ti Grade 2, etc.Inspect chemical composition, mechanical properties, and certificate.Cut into proper bars or billets according to nut size.

2. Hot Forging / Cold Heading

Hot forging: Heat billets to 900–1100 °C, press-form into flange nut preform.Cold heading: For small sizes, high-speed forming for better dimensional accuracy.Form integrated hex body and flange in one step.

3. Annealing Heat Treatment

Heat at 700–800 °C for stress relief and softening.Improve machinability and mechanical performance.Cool in furnace or air to avoid internal stress.

4. Turning & CNC Machining

Machine outer hex, flange surface, chamfer, and overall dimension.Ensure flatness, perpendicularity, and surface roughness.

5. Tapping (Thread Processing)

Use high-precision taps to process internal threads.Strictly control thread tolerance: 6H, ISO 68‑1, DIN 6921.Prevent galling during titanium thread machining.

6. Surface Treatment

Deburring, sandblasting, polishing.Anodizing (coloring), passivation, or coating for anti‑galling & anti‑corrosion.

7. Hardness & Performance Testing

Hardness test: HRC, HV.Tensile strength, proof load, fatigue test.Dimensional inspection: caliper, gauge, CMM.

8. Anti‑galling Treatment & Lubrication

Apply anti‑galling compound or lubricant coating.Reduce friction and prevent seizing during assembly.

9. Final Inspection & Sorting

100% visual and dimensional check.Sort by size, grade, surface finish.Eliminate defective products.

10. Packaging & Warehousing

Clean, oiled, vacuum or box packaging.Label: grade, size, quantity, material certificate.Store in dry, anti‑humidity environment.
