Product processing
Butt Welding LatrOlets (45-degree lateral outlets) are manufactured through forging and machining to ensure high strength and optimal flow, typically adhering to MSS SP-97 or ASME B16.11 standards. The production process involves sourcing forged raw materials (UNS13800), followed by shaping, precise beveling for butt-weld ends, and heat treatment to remove residual stress
Production Process Steps
1. Material Procurement and Preparation: The process starts with high-quality steel, usually forgings in stainless steel(UNS13800),depending on the service requirements (pressure and temperature).
2. Forging and Shaping: The raw forging is machined to form the specialized 45-degree angled body of the Latrolet. This creates a contoured base that fits the main run pipe, providing full reinforcement.
3. Machining and Beveling: The outlet is machined and beveled to match the schedule (thickness) of the branch pipe. The base is also contoured to match the diameter of the main run pipe for a seamless fit.
4. Heat Treatment: To remove residual stresses and achieve specific mechanical properties (required for structural integrity), the fittings undergo heat treatment processes.
5. Quality Control and Inspection: Finished fittings are checked for dimensional accuracy, material composition, and surface defects, ensuring they meet ASME or other industry standards
