Product Description
Grade 904L stainless steel is a non-stabilized austenitic stainless steel with low carbon content. This high alloy stainless steel is added with copper to improve its resistance to strong reducing acids, such as sulphuric acid. The steel is also resistant to stress corrosion cracking and crevice corrosion. Grade 904L is non-magnetic, and offers excellent formability, toughness and weldability.Grade 904L contains high amounts of expensive ingredients, such as molybdenum and nickel. Today, most of the applications that employ grade 904L are replaced by low-cost duplex stainless steel 2205.
Butt welding and threaded unions are two common methods of pipe connection, widely used in industrial piping systems, especially in scenarios with high pressure, high temperature, or where frequent disassembly is required. Here are their structural features and applicable scenarios:Butt Welding Features:The pipe is inserted into the socket of the joint and then welded to form a secure connection.Suitable for small-diameter, high-pressure piping systems.The sealing performance is good after welding, and the seismic resistance is strong.Advantages:High welding strength, suitable for long-term use.Excellent leak-proof performance, suitable for liquid or gas transportation.Disadvantages:Installation requires welding technology, and the construction is complex.Not easy to disassemble, and the maintenance cost is high.Threaded ConnectionFeatures:The connection is achieved by tightening the threads, usually consisting of a nut, a shoulder, and a flange.Suitable for medium and low-pressure systems, installation is convenient.Advantages:Can be disassembled, facilitating maintenance and replacement.Installation does not require welding, suitable for rapid on-site construction.Disadvantages:The sealing performance is relatively poor, and auxiliary sealing materials are required.Not suitable for high-pressure or high-temperature environments.
