Product Description
Grade 904L stainless steel is a non-stabilized austenitic stainless steel with low carbon content. This high alloy stainless steel is added with copper to improve its resistance to strong reducing acids, such as sulphuric acid. The steel is also resistant to stress corrosion cracking and crevice corrosion. Grade 904L is non-magnetic, and offers excellent formability, toughness and weldability.Grade 904L contains high amounts of expensive ingredients, such as molybdenum and nickel. Today, most of the applications that employ grade 904L are replaced by low-cost duplex stainless steel 2205.
Threaded flanges are mechanical components that achieve non-welded connections between pipe threads processed in the inner hole and threaded pipes. Connection method: The inner hole of the flange is precisely machined into pipe threads, and it is directly screwed onto the pipe with external threads to form a sealing structure, without the need for welding. Specifications and parameters: The nominal diameter is generally DN10-DN150. Commonly used materials include carbon steel, stainless steel, and alloy steel, and the applicable standards include national standards, American standards, and chemical industry standards. Sealing surface type: There are mainly raised face (RF), full plane (FF), concave-convex face (MFM), concave face (FM), convex face (M), and dovetail groove face (TG). Advantages: Installation and maintenance are convenient. The single-piece assembly time is shortened by 60% compared to welded flanges, especially suitable for high-altitude or underground pipeline construction in confined spaces; it can effectively avoid the additional stress caused by welding deformation, especially suitable for alloy steel pipeline systems that prohibit welding and special material connection scenarios with poor welding performance. Disadvantages: When the medium temperature exceeds 260℃, the threaded part will experience a decrease in sealing pressure due to thermal expansion, and when the temperature is lower than -45℃, the metal contraction will cause a gap leakage in the threaded part; when the nominal diameter exceeds DN500, the control of threading processing accuracy significantly increases, and special locking devices must be used to ensure sealing reliability. Application fields: Mainly used in special material pipeline systems in fields such as chemical and petroleum, such as the inlet and outlet connections of chromium-molybdenum steel and other high-temperature alloy steel reactors, as a safety connection solution in flammable and explosive medium pipelines, and can also meet the aseptic installation requirements of 316L stainless steel clean pipeline systems in medical equipment.
