Product Description
ASTM A182 F51 equates to UNS S31803. This was the original caption for a 22% Cr duplex stainless steel. However, as explained in an earlier article, manufacturers optimised the composition towards the top end of the limits to improve pitting corrosion resistance. This grade, with a tighter specification, is captioned as F60, equating to UNS S32205. Consequently, S32205 can be dual-certified as S31803, but not vice-versa. It accounts for around 80% of overall duplex stainless steel production. Langley Alloys stocks Alloy 2205+, which is Alleima’s proprietary product that provides enhanced machinability as standard’. Our stock range goes from ½” up to 450mm diameter solid bars, plus hollow bars and plates too.
Butt-welded reducer is an accessory used for pipe connection. Its main function is to connect two pipes of different nominal diameters. The connection method is butt welding (the two ends are fixed to the pipe by welding).Different diameters: the size of the caliber at both ends is different, which is usually divided into two types: "concentric different diameter pipe" and "eccentric different diameter pipe". Concentric pipe: the center of the two ends is in the same straight line, which is suitable for vertical pipes or occasions with low requirements for fluid resistance. Eccentric pipe: the center of the two ends is not on the same straight line (eccentric), which is often used in horizontal pipes, which can avoid the accumulation of liquid and gas in the pipe. Firm connection: Butt-welded connection makes its interface have high strength, good sealing, and can withstand high pressure and temperature, which is suitable for medium and high-pressure pipeline systems. Various materials: According to the properties of the conveying medium (such as corrosiveness, temperature, etc.), carbon steel, stainless steel, alloy steel and other materials can be selected. Common applications It is widely used in petroleum, chemical industry, natural gas, electricity, water supply and drainage and other industrial pipeline systems. It is used for transitional connection of pipelines of different diameters to ensure smooth fluid transportation.
