Product Description
ASTM A182 F51 equates to UNS S31803. This was the original caption for a 22% Cr duplex stainless steel. However, as explained in an earlier article, manufacturers optimized the composition towards the top end of the limits to improve pitting corrosion resistance. This grade, with a tighter specification, is captioned as F60, equating to UNS S32205. Consequently, S32205 can be dual-certified as S31803, but not vice-versa. It accounts for around 80% of overall duplex stainless steel production. Langley Alloys stocks Alloy 2205+, which is Altima's proprietary product that provides enhanced machinability as standard’. Installation Tips: Before installation, check the appearance, size, and material to ensure that the pipeline joint surface is flat and clean; during welding, clean the welding area, select the appropriate welding current and speed according to the material characteristics, and maintain the appropriate temperature and humidity in the welding area; after welding, allow the weld seam to cool naturally and conduct non-destructive testing, such as ultrasonic testing or radiographic testing. Application Fields: Widely used in industrial fields such as petroleum, chemical industry, and power industry, especially in high-pressure, high-temperature, large-diameter, and thick-walled pipelines.
