Grade 904L stainless steel is a non-stabilized austenitic stainless steel with low carbon content. This high alloy stainless steel is added with copper to improve its resistance to strong reducing acids, such as sulphuric acid. The steel is also resistant to stress corrosion cracking and crevice corrosion. Grade 904L is non-magnetic, and offers excellent formability, toughness and weldability.Grade 904L contains high amounts of expensive ingredients, such as molybdenum and nickel. Today, most of the applications that employ grade 904L are replaced by low-cost duplex stainless steel 2205.
A stainless steel round bar is a cylindrical stainless steel product. Common materials and characteristics: 304 stainless steel round bars have excellent corrosion resistance, heat resistance, low-temperature strength and mechanical properties. They have good heat processing properties and no heat treatment hardening phenomenon. They are widely used in tableware, cabinets, medical equipment, etc. 310 stainless steel round bars are mainly characterized by high temperature resistance. They are often used in boilers and automotive exhaust pipes. 420 stainless steel round bars belong to "tool-grade" martensitic steel and can be used to manufacture surgical knives. Production processes: There are mainly three types: hot rolling, forging and cold drawing. The surface of hot-rolled stainless steel round bars is black and rough. Cold-drawn ones are obtained by cold drawing, fine grinding or peeling and polishing processes on the basis of hot rolling, making the surface of the round bars brighter and with higher dimensional accuracy. Specifications and sizes: The diameters are diverse. For example, the outer diameter range of 304 stainless steel round bars is generally 4 millimeters to 500 millimeters, and the length is usually 1 meter to 6 meters. Custom cutting can also be done according to requirements. Application fields: They are widely used in automotive parts, aviation, chemical industry, medical equipment and food industry. For example, in automotive manufacturing, they can be used to manufacture exhaust systems and decorative strips; in the aviation field, they can be used to manufacture some key components; in the food industry, they can be used to manufacture beverage filling machines and dairy processing equipment, etc.
