1. Raw Material Selection & Blanking - Select qualified carbon steel/stainless steel forgings (e.g.A105,304,316) compliant with flange standards; conduct chemical composition and mechanical property testing.
- Cut forgings into fixed-weight blanks by CNC sawing machine, ensure blank size accuracy and no surface defects.
2. Hot Forging Forming
- Heat blanks to optimal forging temperature in heating furnace, avoid overheating to prevent material grain coarsening.
- Forge blanks into socket weld flange rough shape by hydraulic press, ensure socket cavity preliminary forming and dense structure without cracks.
3. Rough Machining
- Fix forged blank on CNC lathe, rough machine outer circle, end face and socket cavity to remove excess allowance.
- Rough turn sealing face and welding socket, form basic flange structure matching drawing outline.
4. Heat Treatment
- Perform stress relief annealing on rough-machined flange to eliminate forging and machining internal stress, avoid deformation.
- Solution treatment and passivation for stainless steel flanges to enhance corrosion resistance and mechanical properties.
5. Finish Machining - Precision machine socket inner wall, ensure socket size matches branch pipe outer diameter for tight fit.
- Finish machine sealing face, outer circle, end face and bolt hole positions via CNC machine, ensure dimensional tolerance ≤±0.02mm.
- Machine welding groove at socket end to meet standard weld size requirements.
6. Bolt Hole Drilling & Chamfering
- Position flange on CNC drilling machine, drill bolt holes evenly in accordance with flange standards (ANSI, DIN, GB).
- Chamfer bolt hole edges and socket port to remove
burrs, prevent sharp edges from damaging gaskets and pipes.
7. Surface Treatment
- Carbon steel flanges: Adopt galvanizing, painting or anti-rust oil coating to prevent corrosion during storage and use.
- Stainless steel flanges: Conduct pickling and passivation to remove surface oxide layer, improve surface finish and corrosion resistance.
8. Quality Inspection
- Dimensional inspection: Use CMM, calipers and micrometers to verify socket size, bolt hole position, sealing face flatness.
- Surface inspection: Eliminate products with scratches, pits, cracks; check socket fit accuracy and welding groove quality. - Material verification: Re-inspect chemical composition of sampled products to ensure compliance with standards.
9. Marking & Packaging
- Mark flange model, material, pressure rating, standard number and batch number by laser engraving or stamping.
- Wrap qualified flanges with anti-rust paper, pack in wooden cases to avoid collision damage; store in dry ventilated warehouse.
