SS304 Introduction
It is used for heavy-duty components to improve weldability. Some products, such as steel plates and pipes, may be"dual-certified" materials, meeting both 304 and 304L standards. 304 stainless steel exhibits excellent corrosion resistance in a variety of environments and when exposed to different corrosive media. In environments containing chlorides, pitting and crevice corrosion may occur. Stress corrosion cracking can occur at temperatures exceeding 60°C. 304 stainless steel has good oxidation resistance in intermittent use, withstanding temperatures up to 870°C, and 925°C in continuous use. However, continuous use at 425-860°C is not recommended if water corrosion resistance is required. In such cases, 304L is recommended due to its resistance to carbide deposition. For applications requiring high strength at temperatures exceeding 500°C, up to 800°C, grade 304H is recommended. This material will retain its water corrosion resistance.
Spiral Wound GasketIntroduction
Spiral wound gaskets are typically made of high-quality SUS304 or SUS316 stainless steel spiral wound strips ("V" or "W" shaped) alternately and spirally wound with soft materials such as graphite, asbestos, PTFE, or asbestos-free materials. The metal strips are fixed at the beginning and end by spot welding. Basic spiral wound gaskets do not have inner or outer rings and are generally used in medium- and low-pressure tongue and groove flanges and flat or raised face flanges.Performance characteristics: Spiral wound gaskets have good compression and resilience, provide multiple seals and a certain degree of self-tightening. They are not very sensitive to surface defects on the flange pressing surface, do not stick to the flange sealing surface, and can partially eliminate the effects of pressure, temperature changes, and mechanical vibration. They can maintain excellent sealing performance under various harsh conditions such as high temperature, low temperature, high vacuum, and impact vibration.Applications: Static sealing parts of flange connections in industries such as petroleum, chemical, metallurgy, power, shipbuilding, gas, nuclear energy, aerospace, textile, pharmaceutical, and machinery.
