1. Raw material cutting inspection
Select A105 and 304/316 stainless steel forgings for round bars, verify the material quality certificate; calculate the billet size according to the pipe specification, cut the bars with a sawing machine, clean the end burrs, inspect the outer diameter and length tolerances of the billets, and reject any non-compliant materials directly.
2. High-temperature die forging
Send the billet to the heating furnace to heat up to the forging process temperature, perform overall die forging with a hydraulic forging machine, forming the main body of the conical section, the main pipe fitting to fit the arc surface, and the reserved base for the threaded inner hole; conduct normalizing / annealing heat treatment after forging to eliminate internal forging stress, refine metal grains, and enhance pressure-bearing toughness.
3. Rough machining of the base
Use a CNC lathe to rough machine the outer conical surface, the bottom fitting arc, and the inner hole base, remove the forging oxide scale, reserve machining allowance, correct coaxiality, and unify the basic dimensions of the pipe fittings.
4. Fine machining + thread processing
Fine machine the outer surface, welding bevels, inner wall steps, ensure a tight fit between the arc surface and the main pipe fitting; use a dedicated thread machining lathe to process the NPT standard conical pipe internal thread, strictly control the thread profile, taper, and depth, and conduct piece-by-piece inspection of the thread sealingity with a thread gauge.
5. Non-destructive testing
Complete magnetic particle / penetrant non-destructive testing to screen for cracks, pores, etc. generated during forging and machining; conduct secondary full inspections of dimensions, threads, and wall thickness, and eliminate pressure-bearing hazards.
6. Polishing, marking, rust prevention and storage
Polish the surface of the pipe fittings to brighten them, remove knife marks and scratches; laser engrave the material, pressure rating, specification furnace number; apply rust prevention oil to carbon steel parts, perform passivation treatment on stainless steel, sort and pack them for storage.
