Hastelloy X Introduction
Super alloys or high performance alloys are available in a variety of shapes and contain elements in different combinations to obtain a specific result. These alloys are of three types that include iron-based, cobalt-based and nickel-based alloys. The nickel-based and cobalt-based super alloys are available as cast or wrought based alloys according to composition and application.Super alloys have good oxidation and creep resistance and can be strengthened by precipitation hardening, solid-solution hardening and work hardening methods. They can also function under high mechanical stress and high temperatures and also in places that require high surface stability.
HASTELLOY(r) X alloy is a wrought nickel base alloy comprising oxidation resistance and high temperature strength. This alloy is resistant to stress-corrosion cracking.
Threaded Olet Introduction
This forged threaded olet, manufactured from Hastelloy X (UNS N06002) nickel‑base superalloy under MSS‑SP‑97 and ASTM B366 standards, is a high‑performance branch outlet fitting for threaded pipe connections. It is hot‑forged in one‑piece structure to avoid casting defects, designed to create a reinforced side branch directly on the main pipeline without additional welded saddles or branch tees. Its integrated‑reinforced body greatly improves local structural strength of the pipe junction.

1.Raw Material Preparation & Inspection
Premium Hastelloy X (UNS N06002) nickel‑base superalloy raw bars are selected. Chemical composition of Ni, Cr, Fe, Mo, Co and other key elements is verified per ASTM B366 standard to ensure high‑temperature strength and corrosion resistance. Surface oxide scale and contaminants are removed before heating. Each batch is accompanied by a material test report to trace material quality.
2.Hot Forging Forming
Pre‑heated alloy billets are hot‑forged into one‑piece olet blanks under strictly controlled temperature and pressure parameters. The integrated forging process eliminates casting defects such as pores and segregation, delivering uniform grain structure and enhanced mechanical properties. After forging, the reinforced base and branch neck are formed in a single body for maximum structural strength at the branch junction.
3.Heat Treatment & Surface Conditioning
Solution annealing is performed at precise high temperature followed by rapid quenching to dissolve precipitates and restore optimum corrosion resistance and ductility. Shot blasting or pickling is then applied to remove surface scale and oxidation layer, obtaining a clean and uniform metal surface ready for precision machining.
4.Precision Machining & Thread Cutting
CNC lathes and milling centers are used for contour turning, bore finishing and run‑out control. Internal threads (NPT, BSPT or BSPP per customer specification) are precisely cut on the branch end with tight tolerance control. The run‑out and concentricity between branch and base are strictly inspected to guarantee accurate alignment with the main pipe.
5.Non‑Destructive Testing, Surface Treatment & Final Delivery
Each olet undergoes NDT examination including penetrant testing to detect surface cracks and defects, and dimensional
verification of thread, bore and base profile. Optional pickling & passivation or polished finish is available for enhanced
corrosion resistance. Qualified products are marked with material grade, size and heat number, then packed for shipment.
