Stainless steel 304 introduction
Stainless steel is an alloy steel based on iron and chromium, supplemented with alloying elements such as nickel, molybdenum, and manganese. The core principle is that chromium in the steel combines with oxygen to form a dense, stable chromium oxide passivation film on the material surface, isolating it from air and moisture and preventing the steel from rusting and corroding.304 stainless steel is an austenitic stainless steel and is the most widely used general-purpose stainless steel material.
Bend Introduction
Stainless steel pipe bends (3D /4D /5D bend) are buttweld pipe fittings for pipeline direction change. The letter D stands for pipe nominal diameter, and the number means center‑line bending radius = multiple × D.
* 3D Bend: R=3×D
* 4D Bend: R=4×D
* 5D Bend: R=5×D
> Difference from standard elbow: Common LR elbow is 1.5D. 3D/4D/5D bends own much gentler curve, lower flow turbulence, less pressure drop, better stress dispersion for long‑distance critical piping.
Available bend angle: 15°,22.5°,30°,45°,60°,90°,180°, custom angle available.
End type: Buttweld bevel ends, with straight tangent segments on both sides.

Bend Product Processing
1.Raw Material Inspection:
Incoming stainless steel pipes (seamless / welded tube) will be checked for material grade, outer diameter, wall thickness and surface condition. Material test reports are provided if required.
2.Cutting to Length:
Raw pipes are cut into specified blank length according to customer drawing. Burrs on pipe ends are removed.
3.CNC Cold Bending Forming:
Adopt CNC hydraulic tube‑bending machine to bend pipes into 180‑degree U‑shape. Strictly control bending radius and ovality to avoid pipe wall wrinkling or cracking.
4.Trimming & End Finishing:
Cut both ends to the finished dimension, deburr and clean pipe ports.
5.Surface Treatment (Optional):
Surface options include pickling, passivation or polishing as per customer demand.
6.Dimension & Visual Inspection:
Inspect bending angle, overall size, flatness, inner & outer surface quality. Reject defective products.
7.Packing & Shipping:
Qualified return bends are bundled and packed to prevent scratch and deformation during transportation.
