1.Raw Material Preparation & Inspection: Bar or pipe blanks of carbon steel, stainless steel, alloy steel and other grades complying with ASTM and ASME standards are selected. Chemical composition, mechanical properties and surface quality are fully checked to rule out cracks, inclusions and defects, followed by precision blanking to obtain fixed‑length workpieces.
2.Heating & Hot‑Forging / Swaging Forming:
Blanks are heated to the required forging temperature under controlled heating parameters. Concentric or eccentric reducing shapes are formed by die forging or rotary swaging process to achieve the required transition taper, ensuring compact metal structure and uniform wall‑thickness distribution.
3.Trimming, Straightening & Heat Treatment:
Forging flashes are removed and workpieces are straightened to correct forming deformation. Heat‑treatment procedures including stress‑relief annealing, normalizing or solution treatment are carried out according to material requirements to eliminate internal stress and improve mechanical and anti‑corrosion performance.
4.Precision Machining:
Both large‑end and small‑end faces are turned, chamfered and machined to accurate dimensions. Threads or socket‑weld profiles are processed as specified to meet connection requirements.
5.Surface Treatment & Quality Testing:
Burrs, oxide scales and surface impurities are cleaned away; polishing, galvanizing or other surface finishes can be provided upon request. Full dimensional inspection, visual examination and nondestructive testing are performed to verify that concentric / eccentric offset tolerance and all technical indicators meet standards.
6.Marking, Packaging & Warehousing:
Qualified swaged nipples are permanently marked with material grade, size, standard and heat number. Anti‑rust protection and standard packaging are completed before storage and shipment.
