Alloy 20 Introduction
Alloy 20 is an austenitic stainless steel containing less than 50% iron and is used in applications involving sulfuric acid. Its
corrosion resistance also finds other applications in the chemical, petrochemical, power generation, and plastics industries.Alloy 20 exhibits superior resistance to pitting and chloride ion corrosion compared to 304 stainless steel and is comparable to 316L stainless steel. Its copper content protects it from sulfuric acid. Alloy 20 is typically selected to address the potential stress corrosion cracking issues of 316L stainless steel.

Weld Neck Flange is a high-strength, high-pressure pipe connection fitting widely used in industrial piping systems. 1.Raw Material Inspection & Blanking:
Adopt high-quality carbon steel, stainless steel and alloy steel round bars that comply with ASTM and ASME standard specifications. Strictly inspect chemical composition, mechanical properties and surface quality to eliminate inclusions, cracks and other internal and surface defects. Qualified raw materials are cut into standardized fixed-length blanks for flange forging.
2.Heating & Closed Die Forging:
The blank materials are evenly heated to the rated forging temperature through precise temperature control. Professional closed-die forging technology is adopted to integrally form the flange disc, tapered weld neck and sealing face. The forged blank features dense metal microstructure, uniform wall thickness and high overall structural strength to adapt to high-pressure working conditions.
3.Trimming, Shaping & Heat Treatment:
Remove forging flashes and redundant edges, and perform integral shaping and straightening to ensure regular flange outline and flatness. Conduct standardized heat treatment including stress relief annealing, normalizing or solution treatment according to different materials, which thoroughly eliminates forging residual stress and improves mechanical toughness and corrosion resistance.
4.Precision Machining:
Carry out multi-axis precision turning processing for flange end face, weld neck taper, sealing surface and bolt holes. Strictly control dimensional tolerance, flatness and groove accuracy to meet ASME B16.5 standard requirements,ensuring perfect fitting and seamless butt welding with matching pipes.
