C276 Introduction Super alloys or high performance alloys are available in a variety of shapes and contain elements in different combinations to obtain a specific result. These alloys are of three types that include iron-based, cobalt-based and nickel-based alloys. The nickel-based and cobalt-based super alloys are available as cast or wrought based alloys according to composition and application.Super alloys have good oxidation and creep resistance and can be strengthened by precipitation hardening,solid-solution hardening and work hardening methods. They can also function under high mechanical stress and high temperatures and also in places that require high surface stability. HASTELLOY(r) C276 is a wrought corrosion-resistant alloy that resists the development of grain boundary precipitates that degrade corrosion resistance. The following datasheet provides an overview of HASTELLOY(r) C276.
C276 Forging Fitting Threaded Coupling Introduction
Forged Threaded Coupling is a high-pressure integral forged pipe fitting, specially designed for connecting and docking two sections of pipelines. As one of the most commonly used pipeline connection accessories, it features double internal thread structure at both ends, realizing fast, stable and weld-free pipeline assembly.
Manufactured by strict hot forging technology, the coupling owns compact integral structure, high structural density and excellent mechanical strength. It effectively resists high pressure, high temperature and pipeline vibration, with stable sealing performance and no leakage risk. The product supports multiple thread standards including NPT, BSPT and BSPP, fully compliant with ASME B16.11, MSS-SP-83 and ANSI B1.20.1 industrial standards.
Available in pressure classes of 3000LB, 6000LB and 9000LB, the forged threaded coupling covers diverse material options such as carbon steel, stainless steel, alloy steel and duplex steel. It is widely applicable for high-pressure piping systems in oil & gas, petrochemical, power generation, fire protection, industrial equipment and fluid transmission projects. It is suitable for both straight pipe connection and on-site pipeline maintenance and replacement, featuring simple installation, good interchangeability and high safety.

1.Raw Material Preparation & Inspection
The entire production implements strict raw material quality control. All incoming steel bars and billets are strictly inspected for chemical composition, mechanical properties and material certificates to ensure full compliance with international standards.Only qualified raw materials are adopted and precisely cut into standard blanks according to coupling dimensional specifications,laying a solid foundation for standardized forging production.
2.Hot Forging & Shaping
The qualified blanks are heated to professional forging temperature by industrial heating equipment, and integrally forged into coupling blanks through hydraulic forging process. The one-piece hot forging structure ensures high density, uniform texture and excellent overall strength. After forming, trimming is performed to remove forging flash and burrs, ensuring regular outer shape and accurate benchmark size for subsequent processing.
3.Heat Treatment & Surface Cleaning
To eliminate internal forging stress and stabilize mechanical performance, all forged couplings undergo standardized heat
treatment including annealing, normalizing or quenching and tempering based on different material properties. After heat
treatment, shot blasting or sand blasting is applied to completely remove surface oxide scales, obtaining a clean and smooth forging surface free of impurities.
4.Precision Machining & Thread Processing
Precision machining is carried out on inner holes and end faces of the coupling to ensure dimensional accuracy and flatness.Double internal threads at both ends are finely processed in strict accordance with ASME B1.20.1 standards, supporting NPT, BSPT, BSPP and other thread types. All thread tolerance and inner diameter parameters are precisely controlled to guarantee tight sealing, accurate fitting and smooth assembly performance.
5.Strict Testing & Marking
All finished products pass comprehensive dimensional inspection including inner diameter, wall thickness and overall length. For high-pressure engineering applications, optional non-destructive testing such as UT, MPI and PT is available to detect potential internal and surface defects. Qualified couplings are permanently stamped with logo, material grade, heat number, pressure class and execution standard for complete traceability.
6.Surface Treatment & Finished Packaging
According to application requirements, finished products are treated with anti-corrosion and anti-rust processes such as black oxide treatment and galvanization, as well as anti-rust oil coating. After final visual inspection to eliminate cracks, thread damage and appearance defects, qualified products are packed in standard plywood cases or wooden crates, effectively preventing collision and corrosion during long-distance marine transportation and ensuring intact delivery.
