Adopt high-purity cathode copper as raw material for C1020 copper plate. Strict incoming inspection covers chemical composition, impurity content and oxygen content to ensure compliance with C1020 standard. Raw materials with excessive impurities and oxide inclusions will be rejected. Melt qualified copper raw materials under vacuum or inert gas protective atmosphere to isolate air, precisely control oxygen content below the standard limit, prevent oxidation and hydrogen embrittlement, and produce clean molten copper for continuous casting.
2. Continuous Casting & Slab Forming
Transport the well-controlled molten copper to continuous casting equipment. Precisely regulate pouring temperature, casting speed and cooling water flow rate to cast solid copper slabs. Slow and uniform cooling is adopted to avoid internal segregation, shrinkage cavities, pores and cracks. The finished slab has compact and uniform internal grain structure, stable mechanical properties, flat surface and consistent cross-section, laying a solid foundation for subsequent rolling processes.
3.Hot Rolling & Surface Descaling
Heat the copper slab to the designated hot rolling temperature within the protective atmosphere. Multiple passes of hot rolling are performed to gradually reduce slab thickness and refine internal grains. After hot rolling, the semi-finished slab forms an oxide layer on the surface. Use pickling, high-pressure water flushing and wire brushing to thoroughly remove oxide scales. Clean and dry the semi-finished copper plate to eliminate residual acid liquid and contaminants before cold rolling.
4.Multi-pass Cold Rolling & Thickness Precision Control
Carry out multi-pass cold rolling on the descaled hot rolled blank. Adjust rolling reduction rate and rolling force step by step to reach the target finished thickness. Control rolling parameters to achieve different material tempers, ranging from fully soft annealed state to full hard state. Precision rolling strictly controls thickness tolerance, flatness and surface quality, ensuring uniform thickness across the whole plate and smooth surface without scratches or rolling marks.
5.Stress Relief Annealing & Finishing Treatment
Perform stress relief annealing under protective atmosphere according to customer temper requirements to eliminate residual internal stress generated during cold rolling, avoiding plate deformation in later machining. After annealing, the copper plate goes through leveling, straightening, trimming and edge shearing to remove edge burrs and irregular edges. Conduct surface cleaning and degreasing to wipe off rolling oil and dirt, obtaining neat finished copper plate blanks.
6.Final Inspection & Anti-corrosion Packaging
Complete comprehensive quality inspection, including dimensional tolerance measurement, electrical conductivity test, surface visual inspection, grain structure examination and hardness test. Mark all qualified plates with material grade C1020, temper, dimensions, batch number and inspection information. Wrap copper plates with anti-tarnish protective film, separate each plate with isolation paper, and pack into sealed wooden cases to prevent surface scratch, fingerprint contamination and oxidation during storage and transportation.
