Butt Welding Elbow Introduction
The main manufacturing standards for butt-welded elbows are generally GB/T13401-2005, GB/T12459-2005, ASME B16.9, SH3409, HG/T21635, HG/T21631, SY/T0510, and GB/T10752-1995.

(1) According to their radius of curvature, butt-welded elbows can be divided into long-radius butt-welded elbows and short-radius butt-welded elbows. The radius of curvature of a long-radius butt-welded elbow is equal to 1.5 times the outer diameter of the pipe, i.e., R=1.5D. The radius of curvature of a short-radius buttwelded elbow is equal to the outer diameter of the pipe, i.e., R=1D. Here, D is the diameter of the buttwelded elbow, and R is the radius of curvature. Unless otherwise specified, 1.5D elbows are generally used.
(2) Classified by pressure rating, there are approximately seventeen types, consistent with American pipe standards: Sch5s, Sch10s, Sch10, Sch20, Sch30, Sch40s, STD, Sch40, Sch60, Sch80s, XS; Sch80, Sch100, Sch120, Sch140, Sch160, XXS. STD and XS are the most commonly used.(3) Classified by elbow angle, there are 45-degree weld neck elbows, 90-degree weld neck elbows, 180-degree weld neck elbows, and other elbows with varying angles.(4) Materials include: carbon steel, alloy steel, and stainless steel.

Butt Welding Elbow Produce Processing
1. Raw Material Preparation:Select qualified steel pipes/round bars,inspect chemical composition & mechanical properties.
2.Cutting: Cut raw materials into fixed-length blanks by sawing/cutting machine.
3.Heating:Heat blanks to 900-110o°C in heating furnace for plastic forming.
4. Forming: Hot pushing: Push heated blanks via pushing machine to form elbow shape with mold. Hot forging:Forgeblanks intoelbow roughshape by forging press.
5.Trimming: Remove flash,burrs and excess material from formed elbows.
6. Heat Treatment: Quench + temper to improve hardness,toughness and corosion resistance.
7. Machining: Process endfaces,inner/outer diameters to meet dimensional accuracy.
