Select certified 304 stainless steel forging blanks for the valve body, ball core and valve stem. Perform spectral composition analysis to confirm chemical composition complies with 304 stainless steel standards. Carry out sampling tests for hardness, tensile strength and ultrasonic non-destructive inspection to detect internal pores, inclusions and forging cracks. Visually check blanks for sand holes, pits, scratches and folding defects. Archive batch number, test records and supplier data for full traceability. Auxiliary parts including PTFE valve seat seals, stem packing, retainer and blue coated handle undergo separate incoming inspection before production.
2.CNC Precision Machining:
Clamp qualified blanks on CNC lathes and machining centers. Complete rough turning and finish turning of the valve body, precisely machine internal female thread, inlet and outlet flow passages and seal cavity strictly according to drawing tolerances. Machine the spherical ball core and valve stem separately, guarantee the roundness of the ball sphere and matching accuracy with PTFE seats. Remove cutting chips and carry out preliminary deburring after all machining procedures.
3.Spherical Lapping & Seat Matching:
Implement precision lapping on the spherical surface of the ball core with special grinding abrasives. Run-in fit the ball with PTFE valve seats to achieve uniform contact and reliable sealing performance. Thoroughly clean the ball core, valve seats and valve body cavity to eliminate grinding powder, metal debris and tiny burrs, preventing scratch damage to sealing pairs during assembly.
4.Ultrasonic Cleaning & Dust-free Assembly:
Place all machined metal components and sealing elements into the ultrasonic cleaning tank with neutral degreasing liquid to remove cutting fluid, grinding paste and fine dust. Rinse repeatedly with purified water and dry thoroughly. Assemble PTFE seat, ball core, valve stem, packing and handle bracket in sequence inside a low-dust workstation. Adjust the pre-tightening force of packing properly to avoid stem leakage while ensuring smooth 90° switching. Install the blue coated operating handle and locking fastener.
5.Pressure Performance & Functional Test:
Conduct shell hydrostatic strength test and seat air tightness test under rated working pressure, keep pressure for the required holding time. Check leakage at female thread ports, stem packing and sealing seat position. Repeat the 90° opening and closing test to verify smooth operation without jamming. Rework or reject unqualified valves with leakage, sticking or unstable operation. After passing all tests, laser mark size “2''” and material grade “304” on the valve body.
6.Final Inspection & Packaging:
Perform comprehensive final inspection: dimensional tolerance, female thread integrity, sealing performance, marking definition, handle switching smoothness and internal cavity cleanliness. Fit plastic thread protective caps on both female thread ends to protect threads. Wrap the finished 304 female thread ball valve with anti-corrosion protective film, put it into a sealed bag with desiccant, then pack into export cartons or wooden cases for moisture-proof and shock-resistant transportation.
