Product Description
Alloy 316H (UNS S31609) is a high carbon modification of Alloy 316 developed for use in elevated temperature service. The alloyhas higher strength at elevated temperatures and is used for structural and pressure vessel applications at temperatures above932°F (500°C). The higher carbon content of 316H also delivers higher tensile and yield strength than 316/316L and its austeniticstructure provides excellent toughness down to cryogenic temperatures.The corrosion resistance of Alloy 316H is comparable to Alloy 316/316L and is superior to Alloy 304/304L in moderately corrosiveenvironments. It is often used in process streams containing chlorides or halides. The alloy resists atmospheric corrosion, aswell as, moderately oxidizing and reducing environments. It also resists corrosion in polluted marine conditions.Alloy 316H is non-magnetic in the annealed condition. It cannot be hardened by heat treatment, however the material will hardendue to cold working. It can be easily welded and processed by standard shop fabrication practices.
Lap joint flange, is a flange connection method. Its characteristic is that the flange can be loosely connected to the flange of the container or pipe. The flange of the loose flange can be made by flanging, directly turning out or additionally welding the ring.Use flanges, steel rings, etc. to fit the flange on the pipe end, and the flange can move on the pipe end. The steel ring or flange is the sealing surface, and the flange is the function of pressing them tightly. It can be seen that the loose flange does not come into contact with the medium because it is blocked by the steel ring or flange.Lap joint flanges are suitable for situations where frequent disassembly is required in the pipeline system, because the pipes on both sides can be rotated after loosening the bolts, making maintenance and replacement easier.
