Grade 904L stainless steel is a non-stabilized austenitic stainless steel with low carbon content. This high alloy stainless
steel is added with copper to improve its resistance to strong reducing acids, such as sulphuric acid. The steel is also resistant to stress corrosion cracking and crevice corrosion. Grade 904L is non-magnetic, and offers excellent formability, toughness and weldability.Grade 904L contains high amounts of expensive ingredients, such as molybdenum and nickel. Today, most of the applications that employ grade 904L are replaced by low-cost duplex stainless steel 2205.

Concentric Swaged NippleStructural Core: The centers of the two pipe openings are on the same straight line. After the pipe diameter changes, the axis remains coincident, and the whole shape is symmetrical in a "cone" or "step" form (in the short section form).Main Application: Suitable for gas pipelines or vertical liquid pipelines.During gas transportation, it can reduce air flow disturbance and ensure smooth transition of the fluid;In vertical liquid pipelines, it avoids local liquid accumulation or increased resistance caused by axis deviation.Typical Scenarios: Often used in systems that do not require wall or floor installation and have high requirements for the consistency of the pipeline axis, such as vertical diameter changes in heating pipelines or main pipes for gas transportation changing diameter. Eccentric Swaged NippleStructural Core: The centers of the two pipe openings are not on the same straight line. The pipe openings are in an "inward tangent" state (one side of the pipe wall is flat, and the other side has a slope transition), and the axis is offset.Main Application: Suitable for horizontal liquid pipelines.The key function is to prevent liquid accumulation: When installed, the "flat side" is usually placed downward (for transporting media prone to deposition) or upward (for transporting media prone to vaporization), to avoid the medium stagnating at the diameter change point, reducing the risk of corrosion or blockage.Typical Scenarios: Pipes that need to be installed against the wall or floor to save space, such as chemical liquid transportation pipes, water supply and drainage horizontal pipes with diameter changes, or diameter changes at the entrances of pumps and valves (to avoid cavitation).
