Product Description
Grade 904L stainless steel is a non-stabilized austenitic stainless steel with low carbon content. This high alloy stainless steel is added with copper to improve its resistance to strong reducing acids, such as sulphuric acid. The steel is also resistant to stress corrosion cracking and crevice corrosion. Grade 904L is non-magnetic, and offers excellent formability, toughness and weldability.Grade 904L contains high amounts of expensive ingredients, such as molybdenum and nickel. Today, most of the applications that employ grade 904L are replaced by low-cost duplex stainless steel 2205.
A blind flange is a type of flange connection component used to seal off pipeline systems. It is usually installed at the end of the pipeline or at the location where isolation is required. Structural features: The blind flange is generally made of a single piece of circular metal, with the same thickness, shape and fastening method as the ordinary flange. There are bolt holes around it, without a central hole. It is connected to the pipeline or other flanges through bolts. Working principle: During installation, a sealing gasket is placed between the blind plate flange and the pipeline or other flanges. It is fastened with bolts to make the sealing surface deform and press the gasket, filling the tiny gaps, achieving the sealing of the pipeline and preventing the flow of fluid. Material selection: Based on the temperature, pressure, corrosiveness and other characteristics of the fluid inside the pipeline, common materials include carbon steel, stainless steel, alloy steel, copper alloy, etc. Pressure grades: There are multiple grades such as PN6 (0.6 MPa), PN10 (1.0 MPa), PN16 (1.6 MPa), etc., as well as American standard pressure grades like Class 150, Class 300, etc. Application scenarios: It is used to isolate pipelines, valves or pressure vessels, facilitating equipment maintenance and repair; after installation or maintenance of the pipeline system, it can seal the system for pressure testing; it can also be used in pipeline renovation or expansion, temporarily closing the openings of unused pipelines, etc.
