Product Description
S32760 Introduction
Stainless steel grade F55 has excellent corrosion resistance to a wide range of areas, especially resistance to pitting andcrevice corrosion in seawater and other chloride containing environments, with critical pitting temperature that is more than 50°C(122°F). This material is known to also have high strength and extended lifecycle. It is 10% lighter than grade 316 steel, ideal for sub-zero service, and more cost effective than nickel alloys. Stainless steel grade F55 can be easily machined and welded. The following datasheet provides an overview of stainless steel grade F55.

1. Structural Types: They can be divided into double-threaded, single-threaded, and flat-end threaded joints. Double-threaded short joints have external threads at both ends, while single-threaded short joints have an external thread at one end and a flat or beveled end at the other. Flat-end threaded joints have a flat section at the end for easy connection to other pipe fittings.
2. Thread Standards: Commonly used thread standards include NPT, RC, or BSP, suitable for piping systems with diameters of 1/4"-4" (DN8-DN100). 3. Materials: Primarily carbon steel and stainless steel. Carbon steel short joints offer high strength and economy, suitable for conventional pressure piping; stainless steel short joints, such as those made of 316L, possess corrosion resistance and are suitable for chemical and marine environments. 4 .Size Specifications: Diameters typically range from 1/8"-4", wall thickness grades cover Sch10-Sch160/XXS series, and length is determined according to actual requirements. 5. Application scenarios: Widely used in pipeline systems in industries such as petroleum, chemical, natural gas, and power, it can be used to connect adjacent pipelines, extend pipeline length, or achieve diameter reduction connections.

Processing
1. Raw Material Preparation- Select high-quality steel (e.g., carbon steel, stainless steel) as raw material, inspect for chemical composition and mechanical properties.
2. Cutting- Cut the raw steel into fixed-length blanks using a cutting machine (e.g., band saw, plasma cutter).
3. Forging/Hot Forming- Heat the blanks to the forging temperature (800-1200℃) and shape them into the basic nipple structure via forging press or hot rolling.
4. Machining- Use CNC lathes to machine the outer diameter, inner bore, and end faces to meet dimensional tolerances.- Process internal/external threads with a thread cutting tool or tapping machine (complying with standards like API, BSP, NPT).
5. Heat Treatment- Perform quenching and tempering to improve hardness, toughness, and wear resistance of the threaded nipple.
6. Surface Treatment- Conduct pickling, passivation (for stainless steel), or galvanization (for carbon steel) to enhance corrosion resistance.
7. Inspection & Testing- Dimensional inspection: Verify thread accuracy, outer diameter, length, and inner bore with calipers, thread gauges, and coordinate measuring machines (CMM).- Non-destructive testing (NDT): Use ultrasonic testing (UT) or magnetic particle testing (MT) to detect internal defects.- Pressure testing: Conduct hydrostatic or pneumatic testing to ensure sealing performance.
8. Cleaning & Packaging- Clean the finished products to remove oil, debris, and rust; package them in wooden cases or cartons with anti-rust materials.
