C11000/C12200 Copper Introduction
C1100 is pure Copper with a Copper content of over 99.90%. It is refined Copper in which 0.02-0.05% Oxygen remains when electrolytic Copper is melted, also known as "Tough-Pitch Copper" (TPC). Because of the high purity of Copper, it has an excellent conductor of electricity and heat as is C1020, but care must be taken to avoid hydrogen embrittlement when heated to high temperatures or welded in a reducing atmosphere due to the effect of Oxygen remaining in the material

Product processing
Copper rod manufacturing, primarily uses continuous casting and rolling (CCR) to convert 99.99% pure copper cathodes into rods (typically 8mm-23.5mm diameter). The process involves melting cathodes, casting into a bar, rolling into a rod, cooling, surface cleaning/pickling, and coiling.
Key Copper Rod Production Stages
* Melting: Copper cathodes are melted in a shaft furnace at approx. 1,200°C to create molten copper, often using charcoal to prevent oxidation.
* Casting: Molten copper is fed into a casting machine (Hazelett or casting wheel) to create an endless solidified bar, generally around 900°C.
* Rolling: The hot, cast bar passes through a continuous rolling train, reducing the cross-section to the desired rod diameter.
* Cooling and Pickling: The rod is quenched (cooled) and, in some systems, treated with acid (pickling) to remove surface oxide and impurities.
* Coiling and Treatment: The rod is treated with a protective wax coating to prevent oxidation and coiled into 3.5 to 8-ton coils for transport
