C276 Introduction
Super alloys or high performance alloys are available in a variety of shapes and contain elements in different combinations to obtain a specific result. These alloys are of three types that include iron-based, cobalt-based and
nickel-based alloys. The nickel-based and cobalt-based super alloys are available as cast or wrought based alloys according to composition and application.
Super alloys have good oxidation and creep resistance and can be strengthened by precipitation hardening, solid-solution hardening and work hardening methods. They can also function under high mechanical stress and high temperatures and also in places that require high surface stability.
HASTELLOY(r) C276 is a wrought corrosion-resistant alloy that resists the development of grain boundary precipitates that degrade corrosion resistance.

A Butt Welding Lateral Tee (or Wye) is a specialized pipe fitting used to split or combine flow at a 45-degree angle (or other
custom angles like 30°/60°). Compared to standard 90-degree tees, it provides a smoother directional transition for piping
networks.

* Hydraulic Bulging (Seamless, Small-to-Medium): Used for sizes under NPS 8". A seamless pipe blank is placed inside a 45° split die. High-pressure liquid is injected internally while horizontal cylinders compress the sides, forcing the metal outward into the 45° branch cavity.
* Mechanical Extrusion (Seamless, Medium-Sized): An elliptical hole is CNC-cut into a pipe run. The area is induction-heated, and a specialized 45° angled mandrel/die setup pulls the opening outward from the inside to form the branch.
* Plate Stamping & Welding (Large Diameters): For sizes over 14", heavy steel plates are CNC-cut using 3D templates and pressed into half-shell segments. The segments are aligned along intersecting lines and joined via full-penetration Submerged Arc Welding (SAW).

1. Trimming & Beveling: All three openings (two run ends and one branch end) are faced to ensure exact squareness to their respective axes. They are then machined with a standard 37.5° welding bevel and a 1.6mm land.
