Stainless steel 304 introduction
Stainless steel is an alloy steel based on iron and chromium, supplemented with alloying elements such as nickel, molybdenum, and manganese. The core principle is that chromium in the steel combines with oxygen to form a dense, stable chromium oxide passivation film on the material surface, isolating it from air and moisture and preventing the steel from rusting and corroding.304 stainless steel is an austenitic stainless steel and is the most widely used general-purpose stainless steel material.
Threaded Flange Introduction
Threaded flanges, also known as threaded flanges, have NPT tapered internal threads machined inside the flange body. They require no welding and are directly screwed onto threaded steel pipes, making them detachable flanges.During the design phase, it can be treated as a loose flange. The advantage is that welding is not required, and the additional torque generated on the cylinder or pipe when the flange deforms is very small.

Threaded Flange Product Processing
1.Raw material blanking: Raw materials: Forged round steel / Forged flange blanks (forgings preferred, castings are not accepted)Cutting and blanking: Cut round bars according to the corresponding diameter and thickness.
2.Forging: Heating the billet and forging/free forging it into a flange disc blank. Normalizing/annealing heat treatment:
Releasing forging internal stress and improving machinability. Initial visual inspection: Preliminary screening for cracks,
inclusions, and missing material.
3.CNC lathe machining: Rough turning of the flange back, outer diameter, and sealing surface, leaving machining allowance. Rough boring of the center inner hole, leaving thread machining allowance. Rough machining of the bolt hole distribution circle.
4.Drilling & Tapping (Bolt Holes): Position the CNC drilling machine and drill through holes for bolts according to standard B16.5 dimensions. Deburr the hole opening.
5.Precision machining: Precision machining of flange sealing surfaces (most common for raised face RF flanges) Precision machining of flange thickness, outer diameter, and plane parallelism Machining of water lines on sealing surfaces (as required).
6.Internal thread machining [Core process for threaded flanges]: Machining NPT 60° tapered pipe internal threads using a CNC lathe/thread-specific lathe. Inspecting the threads using standard NPT thread plug gauges.
7.Deburring and cleaning: Clean burrs from the sealing surface, metal filings inside the threads, and burrs from edges and
corners; Blow compressed air through the threaded hole to prevent residual metal filings from damaging the mating threads.
8.Non-destructive testing: Routine orders: Visual inspection (VT). High-end/high-voltage orders: Magnetic particle testing (MT)(carbon steel), penetrant testing (PT) (stainless steel) to detect forging cracks and machining cracks.
9.Surface treatment: Carbon steel A105 flange: blackening / rust-preventive oil / galvanizing.Stainless steel flange: pickling and passivation, polishing (when requested by the customer).
10.Final inspection: Dimensional verification: outer diameter, thickness, bolt hole spacing, sealing surface dimensions. NPT thread re-inspection with go/no-go gauge. Visual inspection: scratches, dents (dents are strictly prohibited on the sealing surface). Pressure rating, furnace number, and material markings.
11.Protection and Packaging: Screw on plastic thread protectors to the threaded holes (to prevent damage to the threads during transport). Seal the surfaces with protective plastic film. Pack separately, including a material certificate. MTR
