Alloy 625 introduction
Super alloys are also referred to as high performance alloys. They can function at high temperatures and mechanical stress, and are formed in different shapes. They are strengthened by work hardening, solid-solution hardening, and precipitation hardening.There are three groups of alloys, namely cobalt-based, nickel-based, and iron-based super alloys.Altemp 625™ is a nickel-chromium-molybdenum wrought alloy. It has an ability to withstand stress-corrosion cracking and intergranular attack. The following sections with discuss about Altemp 625™ in detail.
Threaded Male Elbow Introduction
A threaded male elbow (90° double male threaded elbow) is a forged high-pressure pipe fitting with external NPT tapered threads on both ends, used to change the pipeline direction by 90 degrees. It connects directly to female threaded fittings, nipples, valves or pipe sockets without welding.Structure: Forged solid block body, two male external taper threads, seamless internal bore for fluid flow Executive Standard: ASME B16.11 (Forged Threaded and Socket Welding Fittings) Pressure Class: Class 3000, 6000, 9000 (suitable for high-pressure oil,gas, chemical, power and petrochemical systems) Thread Type: American Standard NPT Taper Pipe Thread (most widely used in global industrial piping).

Threaded Male Elbow Product Processing
1.Raw Material Inspection:Receive solid round bar raw materials (carbon steel A105, 304/316L stainless steel, Alloy 625 nickel alloy).Conduct material test: chemical composition analysis, mechanical property test, hardness inspection, and verify heat number & material certificate to avoid mixed materials.Cut round bars into fixed-length blanks according to finished product size.
2. Hot Forging Forming (Core Process):Heat the steel blank in an industrial heating furnace to the specified forging temperature.Use hydraulic forging press + customized elbow mold for closed-die hot forging, one-time forming of 90° elbow blank with thickened wall for high pressure resistance.Remove flash and excess material after forging, trim the outline shape.Stress relief annealing heat treatment: eliminate internal forging stress, prevent deformation and cracking in later machining and service.
2. 3. CNC Precision Machining: Rough turning: machine two end faces, outer circle and inner through hole to reserve finishing allowance.Finish boring inner bore to ensure smooth flow channel and consistent wall thickness.CNC thread turning: process standard NPT external tapered male threads on both ends strictly per ASME B1.20.1.Chamfer both thread ends for easy assembly and thread protection during installation.
4. Surface Treatment:Stainless steel & nickel alloy: pickling and passivation treatment to improve corrosion resistance and bright surface finish.Remove burrs, sharp edges and metal chips completely.
5. Quality Testing & Inspection:Thread gauge inspection: check NPT thread taper, pitch and tightness with professional thread ring gauges.Dimension full inspection: measure overall length, outer diameter, bore size, thread length, wall thickness.Non-destructive testing (NDT): MPI magnetic particle inspection / UT ultrasonic test to detect internal cracks, porosity and forging defects.Pressure resistance sampling test (hydrostatic test) for batch verification.
6. Marking, Packaging & Warehouse:Laser permanent marking on the body: material grade, UNS number, pressure class (Class 3000/6000/9000), standard ASME B16.11,heat number, brand logo.Thread protection: install plastic thread caps on both male threads to avoid collision and thread damage.Pack into plastic bags + export cartons or wooden cases, attach inspection report and material test certificate (MTR).
