Stainless steel 304 introduction
Stainless steel is an alloy steel based on iron and chromium, supplemented with alloying elements such as nickel, molybdenum, and manganese. The core principle is that chromium in the steel combines with oxygen to form a dense, stable chromium oxide passivation film on the material surface, isolating it from air and moisture and preventing the steel from rusting and corroding.304 stainless steel is an austenitic stainless steel and is the most widely used general-purpose stainless steel material.
Stud Bolt Introduction
Stud bolt is a headless industrial fastener featured with threads on both ends instead of a bolt head. Two mainstream versions are widely adopted: DIN 938 stud bolt comes with an unthreaded intermediate smooth shank between double‑end threads for better mechanical performance under heavy load and high‑pressure working conditions, while DIN 939 fully‑threaded stud bolt features continuous threads over the entire length. Manufactured from carbon steel, high‑strength alloy steel or corrosion‑resistant stainless steel 304 / 316L, studs cooperate with matching nuts and washers for installation. One threaded end is screwed into tapped hole of base component, and the other protruding end secures mating parts by tightening nuts. It is extensively utilized for flange joints, valve assemblies, pressure vessels, petrochemical facilities and heavy‑duty pipeline systems, especially suitable for scenarios where frequent disassembly, high temperature or high service load is required.

Stud Bolt Product Processing
1. Raw material preparation:Steel bars of carbon steel, alloy steel or stainless steel are received. Raw materials are checked for chemical composition and mechanical properties to match order requirements.
2. Cutting to length:Solid steel bars are cut into required stud length by sawing machine, ensuring accurate overall dimension and flat end faces.
3. Heat treatment (for high‑strength carbon & alloy steel studs):8.8,10.9,12.9 grade studs go through quenching and tempering to achieve required tensile strength and hardness. Stainles steel studs normally skip this procedure.
4. Turning / Machining:For DIN938 studs with intermediate plain shank, lathe machining forms the smooth middle shank and trims outer diameter.Fully‑threaded DIN939 studs may skip this step.
5. Thread rolling:Both ends are processed by thread rolling machine to form standard threads. Thread tolerance complies with ISO, DIN or ASME specifications. Thread profile is controlled to avoid crack or burr.
6. Surface treatment:Carbon / alloy steel: zinc plating or black oxide for anti‑corrosion.Stainless steel: pickling and passivation to improve rust resistance.
