Hastelloy X Introduction
Super alloys or high performance alloys are available in a variety of shapes and contain elements in different combinations to obtain a specific result. These alloys are of three types that include iron-based, cobalt-based and nickel-based alloys. The nickel-based and cobalt-based super alloys are available as cast or wrought based alloys according to composition and application.
Super alloys have good oxidation and creep resistance and can be strengthened by precipitation hardening, solid-solution hardening and work hardening methods. They can also function under high mechanical stress and high temperatures and also in places that require high surface stability. HASTELLOY(r) X alloy is a wrought nickel base alloy comprising oxidation resistance and high temperature strength. This alloy is resistant to stress-corrosion cracking.
Forged Fitting Socket Welding 90°/45° Elbow Introduction
Forged socket‑weld 90° and 45° elbows are one‑piece hot‑forged high‑pressure pipe fittings for changing pipeline flow direction. Manufactured according to ASME B16.11 and MSS SP‑97, they are widely used for small‑bore high‑pressure piping systems. The socket‑weld structure allows pipes to be inserted into the recessed socket bore and fixed by fillet welding, forming firm, leak‑proof joints with high structural rigidity.
Available pressure classes cover 3000#, 6000# and 9000#, with size range from 1/8" to 4". Multiple material options include carbon steel, stainless steel, alloy steel and nickel‑based alloys. Raw bar stock is forged integrally without welding seams, delivering excellent mechanical strength and pressure‑bearing performance. After solution heat treatment and precision CNC machining, the socket cavity, end face and outer contour are finished to tight dimensional tolerances.
Products can undergo PMI inspection, hydrostatic test and NDT, with EN10204‑3.1 test certificates supplied. Common surface finishes are machined or pickled. Compared with threaded fittings, socket‑weld elbows feature higher connection strength and better high‑temperature adaptability. They are extensively adopted in petrochemical, power, natural gas and hydraulic equipment for critical high‑pressure process pipelines.

Forged Fitting Socket Welding 90°/45° Elbow Product Processing
1.Raw Material Acceptance. Solid round bars are received and inspected at first. PMI test, surface defect and dimension check are implemented to ensure raw materials conform to required material specifications. Non‑qualified blanks are eliminated to prevent material confusion at the initial stage of production.
2.Cutting & Billet Heating. Qualified bars are saw‑cut into fixed‑length blanks. Blanks are heated uniformly inside a
temperature‑controlled furnace to reach the optimum hot‑forging temperature, which can reduce forging resistance and avoid forging cracks.
3.Hot Forging Forming. Heated billets are pressed and forged into elbow rough blanks by forging machine. Integral one‑piece forging removes hidden dangers of weld seam, greatly improving the mechanical strength and pressure resistance of finished socket weld elbows.
4.Heat Treatment. Forged blanks are subjected to proper heat‑treatment procedures such as normalizing or solution annealing. This step releases forging residual stress, refines internal grain structure and enhances material toughness for subsequent precise machining.
5.CNC Precision Machining. Workpieces are processed on CNC lathes. Operators machine the outer profile, end face and critical socket cavity strictly following ASME B16.11 dimension tolerance, to guarantee accurate socket depth, inner diameter and flatness for pipe insertion.
6.Surface Treatment & Deburring. All machining burrs, sharp corners and oil contaminants are cleared away. Parts are pickled or machined to remove surface oxide layer for a neat finished appearance.
7.Inspection, Marking & Packing. Dimensional measurement, visual inspection, hydrostatic test and NDT are carried out. After passing all inspections, permanent stamps of size, pressure class and material grade are marked. Finished goods are well packed in wooden crates for safe transportation.
