Hastelloy X Introduction
Super alloys or high performance alloys are available in a variety of shapes and contain elements in different combinations to obtain a specific result. These alloys are of three types that include iron-based, cobalt-based and nickel-based alloys. The nickel-based and cobalt-based super alloys are available as cast or wrought based alloys according to composition and application.Super alloys have good oxidation and creep resistance and can be strengthened by precipitation hardening, solid-solution hardening and work hardening methods. They can also function under high mechanical stress and high temperatures and also in places that require high surface stability.
HASTELLOY(r) X alloy is a wrought nickel base alloy comprising oxidation resistance and high temperature strength. This alloy is resistant to stress-corrosion cracking.
Forging Technology Threaded Coupling Introduction
Hastelloy‑X (UNS N06002, W.Nr.2.4665) forged threaded coupling is a one‑piece hot‑forged high‑pressure pipe connector for joining two threaded pipe sections. Produced in compliance with ASTM B564 and ASME B16.11, this fitting adopts internal female‑thread structure on both ends, supporting NPT or BSPT thread types, with pressure ratings of 2000#, 3000#, 6000#, 9000# and size coverage from 1/8"‑4".
Manufactured from nickel‑chromium‑iron‑molybdenum superalloy, the coupling retains stable mechanical performance and outstanding anti‑oxidation capacity under long‑term high‑temperature working conditions up to 900℃, and provides favorable resistance against thermal cycling and stress‑corrosion cracking in harsh medium environments. Integral forging eliminates internal weld seams, improving overall pressure‑bearing capacity and sealing reliability. After solution heat treatment and CNC thread machining, strict thread tolerance is guaranteed for smooth assembly and interchangeability.
Finished products are available with pickled or machined surface. PMI inspection, hydrostatic test, NDT and EN10204‑3.1 material certificates can be supplied. With easy installation and maintenance, Hastelloy‑X threaded couplings are widely used in petrochemical furnaces, heat exchangers, flue‑gas treatment, waste incineration and aerospace high‑temperature small‑bore high‑pressure pipelines.

1.Raw Material Inspection: Solid Hastelloy X (UNS N06002) round bars are first subjected to strict incoming quality control. This includes Positive Material Identification (PMI) to verify chemical composition, dimensional checks, and surface defect inspection to ensure compliance with ASTM B564 standards.
2.Cutting & Preheating: Qualified bars are cut into precise-length billets. These billets are then uniformly heated in a
controlled atmosphere furnace to the optimal hot-forging temperature, typically around 1177°C (2150°F), to enhance material ductility and prepare it for shaping.
3.Hot Forging: The heated billets are placed in a custom-designed die and shaped into coupling rough blanks using a hydraulic press or hammer. The integral one-piece forging process ensures a homogeneous microstructure and eliminates the risks associated with welded joints, significantly boosting the fitting's mechanical strength and pressure-bearing capacity.
4.Solution Heat Treatment: After forging, the rough blanks undergo solution annealing. This involves heating the material to approximately 1177°C (2150°F) and then rapidly quenching it in water or air. This process relieves internal stresses from forging, refines the grain structure, and maximizes the alloy's corrosion resistance and high-temperature strength.
5.CNC Machining: The heat-treated blanks are precision-machined on CNC lathes. This includes turning the outer diameter, facing the ends, and most critically, cutting the internal NPT or BSPT threads to exacting standards (ASME B1.20.1) to ensure leak-tight connections and interchangeability.
6.Surface Finishing & Cleaning: All machining marks, burrs, and surface contaminants are removed. The finished couplings are then pickled in a chemical bath to dissolve any oxide scale, resulting in a clean, uniform, and corrosion-resistant surface finish.
7.Final Inspection & Marking: A comprehensive quality control check is performed, including dimensional verification, thread gauging, hydrostatic pressure testing, and non-destructive testing (NDT) if required. Passed products are permanently marked with material grade, size, pressure class, and heat lot number before being carefully packaged for shipment.
