Hastelloy X Introduction
Super alloys or high performance alloys are available in a variety of shapes and contain elements in different combinations to obtain a specific result. These alloys are of three types that include iron-based, cobalt-based and nickel-based alloys. The nickel-based and cobalt-based super alloys are available as cast or wrought based alloys according to composition and application.Super alloys have good oxidation and creep resistance and can be strengthened by precipitation hardening, solid-solution hardening and work hardening methods. They can also function under high mechanical stress and high temperatures and also in places that require high surface stability.
HASTELLOY(r) X alloy is a wrought nickel base alloy comprising oxidation resistance and high temperature strength. This alloy is resistant to stress-corrosion cracking.
Straight or Reducing Hexagonal Nipple Introduction
Straight and Reducing Hexagonal Nipples are essential threaded pipe fittings widely used to connect two pipe sections. The straight hexagonal nipple, also known as equal‑diameter hex nipple, features identical male threads on both ends for joining pipelines of the same nominal size. In contrast, the reducing hexagonal nipple comes with two different thread sizes, enabling smooth transition between pipelines with varying diameters.
Manufactured mainly from stainless steel 304 or 316, these hex nipples deliver good mechanical strength and outstanding corrosion resistance. Stainless‑steel 304 suits general‑purpose water, oil and non‑corrosive fluid systems, while SS316 performs better under marine, chemical and mildly acidic working environments. The middle hexagonal body provides a flat clamping surface, allowing convenient installation and disassembly with standard wrenches without slipping. Available thread standards include NPT and BSPP in a full range of sizes. Precise CNC‑machined threads guarantee tight connection and effective leakage prevention. Surface finishing options contain polished or shot‑blasted treatment according to customer requirements.
These fittings are extensively applied in plumbing, chemical processing, water treatment, petroleum, food‑processing and industrial pipeline systems. 1. Raw Material Inspection
Solid stainless‑steel bar stock of 304 or 316 grade is received and sampled for chemical composition testing. Unqualified raw materials will be rejected at the very beginning to guarantee corrosion resistance of finished nipples.

Steel bars are cut into fixed‑length blanks according to product specifications. For straight nipples, both ends keep the same diameter. For reducing nipples, one end is reserved for smaller‑diameter machining allowance.
3. CNC Turning
Blanks are clamped on CNC lathes for overall shaping. The central hexagonal surface, outer circle and end faces are machined. Hex flats are precisely processed to fit wrench clamping and avoid slipping during installation.
4. Thread Machining
Both ends are threaded with standard NPT or BSPP threads. Thread depth, pitch and tooth profile are strictly controlled. For reducing nipples, two different thread sizes are machined on each side. Thread accuracy directly affects sealing and assembly compatibility.

5. Deburring & Surface Treatment
Workpieces are deburred to remove sharp edges. Stainless‑steel nipples can be
polished or shot‑blasted. Passivation treatment is carried out to improve rust‑proof capacity.

6. Marking (Optional)
Size mark, material grade or brand logo can be engraved on the hexagonal surface upon customer’s demand.
7. Quality Inspection
Finished products go through multi‑item inspection: dimension measurement, thread go‑no‑go gauge test, appearance inspection. Defective goods will be sorted out.
8. Export Packing
Qualified hexagonal nipples are cleaned and packed properly to prevent scratch and collision damage in long‑distance shipment.
