Hex Flange Nut Product Processing
1.Raw material preparation:
Select carbon steel or stainless steel wire rod, straighten and cut to required blank length.
2.Multi‑station cold heading forming:
Cold‑forge the workpiece to form hexagon body and one‑piece flange face in dies, obtain flange nut blank.
3.Piercing:
Punch central hole for subsequent thread tapping.
4.Thread tapping:
Machine internal metric threads to meet standard thread tolerance.
5.Heat treatment (for high‑strength grades only):
Quenching and tempering to achieve required hardness and mechanical performance for grade 8/10/12 carbon steel nuts. Stainless steel usually skips this step.
6.Deburring:
Remove sharp burrs on edges and hole surface.
7.Surface treatment:
Zinc plating, hot‑dip galvanized or plain finish according to customer requirements.
8.Quality inspection:
Check dimensions, thread, hardness, surface appearance with gauges and testing equipment.
9.Packing:
Qualified goods are packed for shipment.
