Stainless steel 304 introduction
Stainless steel is an alloy steel based on iron and chromium, supplemented with alloying elements such as nickel, molybdenum, and manganese. The core principle is that chromium in the steel combines with oxygen to form a dense, stable chromium oxide passivation film on the material surface, isolating it from air and moisture and preventing the steel from rusting and corroding.304 stainless steel is an austenitic stainless steel and is the most widely used general-purpose stainless steel material.
Hexagon Socket Set Screw Introduction
Hexagon socket set screw (also called headless set screw, grub screw), standard DIN913/DIN914/DIN915/DIN916, is a fully‑threaded fastener without external head. It adopts internal hexagon drive for installation. Different end points including flat point, cone point, dog point and cup point are available for different working conditions. It is screwed into threaded hole to press against mating part, realizing positioning, locking and anti‑rotation without protruding from component surface. Main materials include carbon steel, stainless steel 304 and 316, widely used in shafts, couplings, instruments and mechanical assemblies.

Hexagon Socket Set Screw Product Processing
1.Raw Material Preparation:
Select carbon steel or stainless steel wire rod, straighten and cut to required blank length.
2.Cold Heading Forming:
Multi‑station cold heading to form outer thread blank and inner hex socket cavity.
3.End Point Forming:
Shape different end points: cup point, flat point, cone point or dog point according to standard(DIN913‑DIN916).
4.Thread Rolling:
Roll full external threads to meet standard thread tolerance.
5.Heat Treatment (High‑strength carbon steel only):
Quenching and tempering to obtain required hardness and mechanical property. Stainless steel skips this procedure.
6.Deburring:
Remove sharp burrs on hex socket, thread and end face.
7.Surface Treatment:
Zinc plating, black oxide or plain finish as customer request.
8.Quality Inspection:
Inspect dimension, inner hex socket, thread, hardness and surface appearance.
9.Packing:
Qualified products are packed for delivery.
