Qualified bar blanks of carbon steel, stainless steel and alloy steel conforming to ASTM A182 standards are selected. Chemical composition, mechanical properties and surface condition are inspected to exclude internal and surface defects. Raw bars are cut into fixed‑length workpieces with neat end faces for forging.
2.Heating & Closed‑Die Forging Forming:
Blanks are heated to the specified forging temperature under precise temperature control. Hot closed‑die forging is adopted to integrally shape the saddle profile, reinforced body and socket‑weld outlet, ensuring compact metal structure and sufficient wall thickness on the reinforcement zone.
3.Trimming, Straightening & Heat Treatment:
Forging flashes and surplus material are removed, followed by straightening to correct forming deformation. Targeted heat‑treatment is implemented: stress‑relief annealing for carbon‑steel parts and solution treatment for stainless‑steel products, eliminating forging‑induced internal stress and improving mechanical strength and corrosion resistance.
4.Precision Machining & Socket Processing:
The saddle surface is machined to match the outer curvature of the main pipe. The branch bore and socket‑weld cavity are precisely turned to meet dimensional tolerance requirements for socket‑weld connection.
5.Surface Finishing & Quality Inspection:
Burrs and oxide scales are cleaned from inner and outer surfaces. Full dimensional check, visual inspection and nondestructive testing are performed to verify reinforcement dimensions, socket depth and all technical parameters.
6.Marking, Anti‑rust Treatment & Packaging:
Qualified socket‑welding olets are marked with material grade, size, applicable standard and heat number. Anti‑rust protection and standard packaging are completed prior to warehousing and shipment.
