Alloy 20 Introduction
Alloy 20 is an austenitic stainless steel containing less than 50% iron and is used in applications involving sulfuric acid. Its
corrosion resistance also finds other applications in the chemical, petrochemical, power generation, and plastics industries.Alloy 20 exhibits superior resistance to pitting and chloride ion corrosion compared to 304 stainless steel and is comparable to316L stainless steel. Its copper content protects it from sulfuric acid. Alloy 20 is typically selected to address the potentialstress corrosion cracking issues of 316L stainless steel.

Alloy 20 Forging Flange Lap Joint Flanges Introduction
Lap Joint Flange is a flexible forged pipe connection fitting consisting of a loose flange ring and a stub end, widely used for low-to-medium pressure industrial piping systems. Different from integral welding flanges, it features a movable loose structure that allows the flange ring to rotate freely around the stub end, enabling easy bolt hole alignment and convenient installation and disassembly. This design effectively avoids flange surface wear during pipeline adjustment and compensates for assembly deviation. Manufactured from premium carbon steel, stainless steel and alloy steel complying with ASME B16.5 and ASTM standards, lap joint flanges deliver excellent flexibility, stable sealing performance and outstanding corrosion resistance. 1.Raw Material Inspection & Blanking:
Select high-quality carbon steel, stainless steel and alloy steel round bars compliant with ASTM and ASME standard requirements. Strictly inspect chemical composition, mechanical properties and surface condition to eliminate cracks, inclusions and other defects. Qualified raw materials are precisely cut into fixed-length blanks for forging of flange rings and stub ends.

Heat the qualified blanks to standard forging temperature with precise temperature control.Adopt closed-die forging process to integrally form loose flange ring and lap joint stub end respectively. The forged workpieces feature dense internal grain structure, uniform wall thickness and stable mechanical performance, ensuring flexible matching and pressure-bearing capacity of lap joint assembly.

Remove forging flashes and redundant materials, and straighten workpieces to correct forming deformation and ensure flat and regular overall dimensions. Conduct professional heat treatment including stress relief annealing, normalizing and solution treatment according to different materials to eliminate residual forging stress, improve material toughness and enhance corrosion resistance.
