Alloy 718 Introduction

Alloy 718/2.4668 is a nickel-chromium-iron alloy with niobium and molybdenum and low contained aluminum and tnum. Excellent mechanical properties in lower temperatures. Excellent corrosion resistance at high and low temperatures
Inconel 718 is a nickel-based super alloy that is well suited for applications requiring high strength in temperature ranges from cryogenic up to 1400°F. Inconel 718 also exhibits excellent tensile and impact strength.

1. Basic Definition
Threaded square head plug is a forged pipe fitting with external male thread and square head, designed to block threaded openings on pipelines, valves and equipment.
2. Structural Feature
The square head allows wrench gripping for easy tightening and removal. It transfers high torque effectively and prevents slipping during installation.
3. Thread Standard & Sizes
Threads comply with NPT, BSPT and BSPP standards. Available sizes cover 1/8” to 4”, pressure ratings include 2000LB, 3000LB and 6000LB.
4. Material & Surface Treatment
Materials include A105 carbon steel, 304/304L/316/316L stainless steel and brass. Surface options: nickel plating, hot-dip
galvanizing for corrosion resistance.

1.Raw Material Inspection:
Strict incoming inspection for Inconel 718 bar stock. Check chemical composition, hardness, dimension and surface condition to ensure compliance with industrial standards.
2.Precision Cutting & Trimming:
Cut raw materials into fixed lengths according to processing drawings. Remove burrs and excess material to guarantee uniform blank size.
3.CNC Rough Machining：
Complete preliminary turning for plug body, square head shaping and outer contour processing, reserving precise tolerance for finishing.
4.Precision Thread Machining：
Adopt professional CNC threading process to machine standard NPT/BSPT/BSPP threads. Ensure smooth thread surface, accurate tooth pitch and perfect sealing performance.
5.Deburring & Chamfering：
Remove all sharp edges, burrs and tool marks. Make uniform chamfer on thread ends and square head for smooth installation and assembly.
6.Heat Treatment：
Perform professional heat treatment on Inconel 718 material to improve hardness, mechanical strength, high temperature and pressure resistance.
7.Surface Treatment & Polishing：
Carry out fine polishing and anti-corrosion surface treatment. Optimize surface finish to resist oxidation and extend service life.
8.Final Quality Inspection & Packaging：
Inspect thread tolerance, dimension, surface quality and sealing performance one by one. Qualified products will be cleaned, labeled and vacuum packaged before shipment.
