1. Basic Definition and Structure
Round bar is a common solid cylindrical metal raw material with a uniform circular cross-section. It is manufactured through hot rolling, forging or cold drawing processes. With regular shape and stable dimensional accuracy, it is the most fundamental semi-finished material used for producing various metal fittings and mechanical parts.
2. Main Material Types
Different materials provide different mechanical properties, such as high strength, high temperature resistance and corrosion resistance. Manufacturers select suitable round bar materials according to product standards and working condition requirements.
3. Core Features and Advantages
Round bar has dense metal internal structure, good toughness and excellent mechanical stability. It is easy to cut, forge, turn and machine, which greatly improves production efficiency. Its uniform texture effectively reduces defects such as internal porosity and cracks, ensuring high quality of finished forged products.

2. High-Temperature Heating and Forming
The qualified steel billets are sent to the heating furnace for uniform high-temperature heating. The heated blanks are processed by rolling or forging equipment to form a regular cylindrical shape. This step refines the internal metal grain, makes the structure denser, and initially forms the standard circular cross-section of the round bar.
3. Precision Shaping and Sizing
Primary formed round bars are further processed through professional sizing machines. The outer diameter, roundness and straightness are precisely calibrated to control dimensional tolerance within the standard range. This process ensures uniform size and smooth surface of the round bar.
4. Heat Treatment and Surface Finishing
The shaped round bars undergo standardized heat treatment such as annealing and normalizing to eliminate internal processing stress, improve material toughness and mechanical stability. Afterwards, surface scaling, burrs and defects are removed through polishing and cleaning to obtain a smooth finished surface.
5. Final Inspection and Packaging
Finished round bars are comprehensively inspected for dimensional accuracy, surface quality, hardness and internal structure. Qualified products are marked with material grade, specification and batch information, then bundled and packaged professionally for storage and transportation.
