We source certified 304 stainless steel wire rods. Upon incoming, we cross-check material test certificates, perform spectrometer composition analysis and hardness testing. Visual inspection is carried out to detect surface cracks, scratches, rust, segregation and other defects. Qualified wire rods go through precision wire drawing to reach the required blank diameter, followed by surface pickling and lubricant coating, to reduce friction and prevent die damage in the cold heading process.
2.Cold Heading Forming:
The prepared wire rod is fed into multi-station cold heading machine, cut into fixed-length cylindrical blanks. Under continuous stamping of customized moulds, the blank is upset and extruded step by step to form the hexagonal body, integrated flange base and serrated anti-slip knurling on the flange face. Critical dimensions including hex across flats, flange outer diameter, flange thickness and serration profile are monitored in real time to avoid deformation or incomplete tooth forming.
3.Thread Tapping:
Cold-formed nut blanks are conveyed to high-speed tapping equipment. Precision HSS taps machine internal threads following metric, UNC or UNF standard specifications. Coolant is continuously supplied to lower cutting temperature and reduce thread burrs. Operators use go and no-go thread gauges for 100% on-line sampling check, ensuring thread tolerance, pitch and thread engagement comply with standard requirements.
4.Degreasing, Cleaning & Passivation:
All blanks are sent to ultrasonic cleaning tanks to remove drawing lubricant, tapping oil, fine metal chips and residual burrs. After thorough rinsing and drying, stainless steel passivation treatment is performed. A uniform chromium-rich passive film forms on the surface, which significantly enhances anti-corrosion and salt spray performance of 304 material, while retaining the original bright stainless steel appearance.
5.Finished Product Inspection:
Multi-item sampling inspection is implemented. Inspection items cover overall dimensional measurement, thread assembly test, serration completeness, surface defect check, flatness of flange face. If required by customers, neutral salt spray test will be arranged to verify anti-rust performance. Unqualified products are sorted out separately for rework or scrapping.
6.Packaging & Shipment:
All qualified flange nuts are fully dried to avoid moisture residue. Products are packed into inner PE bags and outer export cartons as per customer packing standard. Each package is affixed with clear labels marked with part number, specification, material grade, batch number and quantity. After final stock audit, goods are arranged for delivery.
