Alloy C-276 introduction
Super alloys or high performance alloys are available in a variety of shapes and contain elements in different combinations to obtain a specific result. These alloys are of three types that include ironbased, cobaltbased and nickelbased alloys. The nickelbased and cobaltbased super alloys are available as cast or wrought based alloys according to composition and application.
Super alloys have good oxidation and creep resistance and can be strengthened by precipitation hardening, solidsolution hardening and work hardening methods. They can also function under high mechanical stress and high temperatures and also in places that require high surface stability.
HASTELLOY(r) C276 is a wrought corrosion-resistant alloy that resists the development of grain boundary precipitates that degrade corrosion resistance.
Blind Flanges Introduction
It is available with multiple sealing face types such as raised face, male and female face, ring joint face to fit various gaskets, covering service conditions from general low pressure to severe high pressure. The solid forged construction provides high pressure bearing capacity and reliable sealing performance to withstand full design pressure of piping system.
This product is made of nickel alloy, featuring excellent resistance to various corrosive media and hightemperature oxidation. It is widely used in chemical, oil & gas, power and offshore piping systems, serving for line end closure, equipment nozzle isolation and temporary maintenance segregation. It is an essential component for safe isolation of pressure pipelines.
Blind Flanges Produce Processing
1.Raw Material Inspection and Cutting
Material certificates of nickel alloy billets are verified and physical & chemical tests are performed. Qualified billets are cut to required size, burrs removed and heat number transferred.
2.Billet Heating
Solid billets are loaded into furnace and heated and soaked according to nickel alloy thermal cycle. Forging temperature range is well controlled to avoid overheating and burning.
3.Forging Forming
Closed die forging is adopted on forging press to form solid disc blank with continuous and uniform metal grain flow and dense internal structure.
4.Heat Treatment
Solution annealing or stress relief treatment is carried out to eliminate forging residual stress and adjust microstructure to meet mechanical property requirements.
5.Rough Machining
CNC lathe rough turns outer circle, two end faces and base sealing surface with finish allowance reserved.
6.Non-Destructive Testing
UT and PT inspection are conducted after rough machining to detect laminations, surface cracks and other forging defects.
7.Finish Machining
Precision turning of sealing face, serration or ring groove machining and bolt hole drilling. Strict control on thickness, bolt circle, flatness and roughness of sealing face.
8.Dimension and Sealing Face Inspection
Full dimensional verification, sealing surface precision test and cross-check with pressure class and applicable standard.
9.Marking and Stamping
Traceability marks including size, pressure class, heat number, material and standard are stamped on outer edge.
10.Surface Treatment
Sand blasting for scale removal, protective coating applied as per order requirement.
11.Final Inspection, Packing and Storage
Final acceptance inspection. Qualified products are protected and packed properly before warehousing.
