We adopt A36 carbon steel wire rod as the base material. Each batch will be inspected strictly, including chemical composition spectral testing, mechanical hardness testing, surface crack and scratch visual inspection, and dimensional tolerance verification of the wire rod. Any raw material with unqualified composition, surface defects or inconsistent specification will be isolated and returned to the supplier. Only raw materials that meet the standard requirements can be put into subsequent production.
2.Cold Heading Forming:
The qualified steel wire is straightened first, then cut into fixed-length blanks according to the nut size requirement. The blanks are sent to the multi-station cold heading machine. Under precise high-pressure stamping, the blank is formed into a regular hexagonal outer shape and a reserved inner hole. The process controls the flatness of the hexagonal surface, the coaxiality of the inner hole and the outer hexagon, and the overall height of the nut to avoid deformation and cracking during cold forming.
3.Thread Tapping:
The cold-formed nut blank is positioned and fixed on the precision tapping machine. Standard taps are used to cut internal threads following the specified thread standard. After tapping, each nut is checked by thread go gauge and no-go gauge to verify thread pitch, tooth profile, thread tolerance and thread depth. Nuts with broken teeth, messy threads or tight gauge detection failure will be picked out as defective products.
4.Deburring & Degreasing Cleaning:
The nuts are put into the tumbling machine with abrasive media for barrel polishing to remove sharp burrs on hexagonal edges and the mouth of the inner thread. After tumbling, the nuts are transferred to the ultrasonic cleaning tank to remove stamping oil, metal chips and dust on the surface and inside threads. Then compressed clean air is used for thorough drying to ensure no residual oil and moisture, which is the prerequisite for stable black oxide film.
5.Black Oxide Surface Treatment:
The dried nuts are put into the alkaline blackening production line in batches. The whole process includes pre-treatment activation, alkaline blackening reaction, clean water rinsing, anti-rust sealing and hot air drying. Under stable temperature and reaction time, a uniform, thin and adherent black oxide conversion film is formed on the steel surface. This matte black film can improve the wear resistance and provide moderate rust resistance. We will check the color uniformity and film adhesion of the nuts to avoid mottling and peeling.
6.Final Inspection & Packaging:
Carry out sampling inspection according to the inspection standard, including overall dimension check, thread recheck, surface appearance check, black oxide coating inspection and sealing effect verification. Products with incomplete black film, scratch, deformation, unqualified thread will be eliminated. The qualified nuts are packed into moisture-proof plastic bags, then placed into export cartons. Each carton is attached with a clear label marked with material grade, specification, batch number, quantity and inspection mark, ready for shipment.
