The whole manufacturing workflow of 410 martensitic stainless‑steel round rod follows standardized industrial procedures, strictly controlling chemical composition and finished‑rod performance.
.Raw Material Melting & Spectral InspectionRaw‑steel scrap and alloy additives are smelted in the furnace. Workers carry out X‑ray fluorescence spectrum testing to check every element, making sure components comply with ASTM A240 standard for grade 410 (UNS S41000). Unqualified molten steel will be re‑allocated before casting.
.Ingot Casting and Hot ForgingQualified liquid steel is cast into steel ingots. High‑temperature hot forging eliminates internal pores, loose grain and metal defects. Forging improves the compactness and overall mechanical property of the billet.
.Hot Rolling and SizingForged billets go through multi‑pass hot‑rolling. We produce semi‑finished round bars covering the diameter range 15‑1200 mm. Rollers precisely control outer‑diameter tolerance for subsequent fine‑processing.
.Heat‑treatmentAs a typical hardenable martensitic stainless steel, 410 round rods receive quenching and tempering treatment. Heat‑treatment adjusts hardness, toughness and wear‑resistance to meet machining requirements.
.Cutting, Surface Treatment and FinishingBars are cut into custom lengths from 1‑12 meters. Available surface finishes include black forged skin, peeled bright surface, ground polished finish. Burrs and surface flaws are removed.
.Final‑stage Quality‑check and PackingEach finished batch accepts repeated XRF spectrum inspection, dimension measurement and surface defect detection. Qualified round rods are bundled and packed in wooden cases for overseas shipment.
