C276 Introduction Super alloys or high performance alloys are available in a variety of shapes and contain elements in different combinations to obtain a specific result. These alloys are of three types that include iron-based, cobalt-based and nickel-based alloys. The nickel-based and cobalt-based super alloys are available as cast or wrought based alloys according to composition and application.Super alloys have good oxidation and creep resistance and can be strengthened by precipitation hardening, solid-solution hardening and work hardening methods. They can also function under high mechanical stress and high temperatures and also in places that require high surface stability. HASTELLOY(r) C276 is a wrought corrosion-resistant alloy that resists the development of grain boundary precipitates that degrade corrosion resistance. The following datasheet provides an overview of HASTELLOY(r) C276.
C276 Butt Welding Pipe Fitting End Cap Introduction
Butt welding cap is a fitting welded to the pipe end or mounted on the external thread of the pipe end to close the pipeline. Its nominal diameter ranges from DN15 to DN1200, and wall thickness covers SCH5‑SCH160.Cap designs include dished cap, conical shell, reducer section, flat head and nozzle. Among them, dished caps comprise hemispherical, elliptical, torispherical and other structures.Manufacturing complies with standards including ASME B16.9, DIN 2617, GB/T 12459 and NORSOK M650. The production processes involve stamping forming, welding, heat treatment, etc. Non‑destructive testing and deformation control are required. Butt‑weld caps are widely used in petrochemical, nuclear power, machinery manufacturing, medical equipment, food‑pharmaceutical,drinking‑water & beverage, beer, food, fertilizer, shipbuilding, pipeline and other industries for sealing pipelines and bearing pressure.

C276 Butt Welding Pipe Fitting End Cap Product Processing
1.Basic Definition & Standard:
Butt weld end caps are professional pipe end closure fittings, independently manufactured from
steel plates, steel strips or seamless steel tubes rather than finished welded pipes. All processing procedures strictly follow ASME B16.9 and GB/T 12459 industrial standards.
2.Raw Material Preparation:
Select qualified carbon steel, stainless steel and alloy steel raw materials, and cut standard circular steel blanks according to product specifications to ensure uniform wall thickness and complete blank size.
3.Forming Process for Small & Medium Sizes :
Adopt deep drawing or hot pressing technology. The steel blanks are integrally pressed into hemispherical, elliptical or
torispherical cap bodies by hydraulic presses with customized molds for one-piece forming.
4.Forming Process for Large & Thick-wall Sizes:
Adopt segmented splicing and welding process. Steel plates are cut into multiple segments, bent by CNC equipment, assembled into complete cap shells, and welded by double-sided submerged arc welding (SAW). Hot pressing correction is performed to adjust roundness and overall height.
5.Machining Treatment:
Carry out edge trimming and precision beveling to form standard V-type or U-type welding grooves, ensuring accurate butt joint size for on-site pipeline installation.
6.Heat Treatment:
Conduct stress relief annealing or normalizing for ordinary carbon steel caps; implement solution heat treatment for stainless steel caps to eliminate internal stress and improve corrosion resistance and structural stability.
7.Strict Inspection Testing:
Complete full-range inspections including dimensional tolerance check, wall thickness detection,ultrasonic & radiographic
non-destructive testing, and hydraulic or pneumatic pressure tests to eliminate welding cracks, deformation and other defects.
8.Finishing & Warehousing:
Clean surface burrs and oil stains, mark product specifications and standards, and conduct classified warehousing after confirming that all indicators meet industrial piping pressure and sealing requirements.
