NXF UNS S20910 XM-19OD DN15-1200 Thickness SCH10-XXS Special Stainless Steel Fitting Butt Welding Olet
A Butt Welding Olet is an integrally reinforced forged branch connection fitting used to create a 90° or 45° branch from a main pipe (header) to a smaller branch pipe in industrial piping systems. It is designed to replace traditional branch connection methods such as reducing tees, reinforcement plates, or reinforced pipe sections, offering superior structural integrity and flow characteristics.

Machinability
Stainless steel grade UNS S20910 XM-19 has machinability characteristics that are similar to other austenitic stainless
steels;however it requires slower speeds, more power, and higher rigidity due to its high work hardening rate. It is recommended that coated carbide tooling be used.
Forming
Stainless steel grade UNS S20910 XM-19 can be formed using the same methods applied for other austenitic stainless steels. More power for forming and forging is needed for this alloy. Forging can be done at 1177-1204°C (2150-2200°F).
Welding
Welding of stainless steel grade UNS S20910 XM-19 can be performed using traditional joining processes. Recommended filler metal should be UNS S20910 XM-19 (AWS E/ER209).
Caution should be taken while using autogenous, high power density joining processes such as EB or laser welding, due to low FN potential and severe outgassing possibility.
Heat Treatment
Final annealing process performed for several of the applications, is done at 1065°C (1950°F), which is followed by water
quenching. In case this material is used in a strongly corrosive environment, annealing should be done at 1121°C (2050°F). This alloy cannot be hardened by heat treatment.
Product processing
1. Raw Material Selection and InspectionWe select qualified round steel billets as raw materials according to standard requirements, mainly including carbon steel, stainless steel, and alloy steel. Each batch of raw materials is accompanied by the original manufacturer's inspection report. Before production, we conduct chemical composition analysis, mechanical property testing, and surface defect inspection to ensure that the material quality meets ASTM and MSS SP-97 standards.
2. Billet PreparationFirst, we use a precision saw to cut the steel billets to a fixed size and weight. Then, we remove the surface oxide scale through shot peening. Afterward, we place the billets in a heating furnace and heat them to a suitable forging temperature to fully soften the metal for subsequent forging.
3. Forging ProcessWe use a closed-die forging process to forge the rough contour of the butt-welded pipe. During the forging process, we precisely shape the curved base and branch sections. We also trim the flash on the workpiece to obtain qualified rough forgings that meet the standards.
4. Heat TreatmentWe perform professional heat treatment according to different material types. This process releases the internal stress generated during forging, refines the metal grains, and improves the overall mechanical properties of the fittings.
5. Precision CNC MachiningWe use advanced CNC lathes for precision machining. We precisely machine the base arc surface, supports, and standard butt weld bevels. All dimensional tolerances are strictly controlled to meet industry standards.
6. Non-Destructive TestingWe conduct comprehensive non-destructive testing on the workpieces, including penetrant testing (PT) and magnetic particle testing (MT). This testing effectively detects surface and internal hidden defects such as cracks and porosity.
7. Final Quality InspectionWe conduct a comprehensive dimensional inspection on each finished product. We strictly verify all parameters according to the MSS SP-97 standard. Qualified products are accompanied by a complete quality inspection report.
8. Surface Treatment and PackagingWe perform shot peening, rust prevention treatment, and surface passivation on products of different materials. Finally, each fitting is packaged in a moisture-proof film and a wooden crate with a clear product label.
