It adopts one-piece solid forging structure, with two external male threads of different nominal diameters on both ends, and an integrated hexagonal wrench section in the middle. This fitting is specially designed to realize seamless connection between two pipelines with unmatched thread sizes, completing stable diameter reduction and flow channel conversion in fluid systems.

Machinability
Stainless steel grade UNS S20910 XM-19 has machinability characteristics that are similar to other austenitic stainless
steels;however it requires slower speeds, more power, and higher rigidity due to its high work hardening rate. It is recommended that coated carbide tooling be used.
Forming
Stainless steel grade UNS S20910 XM-19 can be formed using the same methods applied for other austenitic stainless steels. More power for forming and forging is needed for this alloy. Forging can be done at 1177-1204°C (2150-2200°F).
Welding
Welding of stainless steel grade UNS S20910 XM-19 can be performed using traditional joining processes. Recommended filler metal should be UNS S20910 XM-19 (AWS E/ER209).
Caution should be taken while using autogenous, high power density joining processes such as EB or laser welding, due to low FN potential and severe outgassing possibility.
Heat Treatment
quenching. In case this material is used in a strongly corrosive environment, annealing should be done at 1121°C (2050°F). This alloy cannot be hardened by heat treatment.

Forming: Forged from steel bar stock or produced via casting. Casting factories typically test chemical composition 2-3 times during the process to ensure compliance with standards like ASTM A351.
2. Machining & Reducing:· CNC Turning: The hex bar or forged blank is processed on a CNC lathe to create the reducing profile.· Reducing Profile: One end is machined to a smaller diameter than the other to create the "reducing" function.
3. Thread Cutting:·. Standards: Threads are strictly machined to standards such as NPT (National Pipe Taper), BSPT, or ISO threads.· Taper: For NPT, threads are typically cut at a 60-degree angle with a 1:16 taper to ensure a tight, leak-proof seal.· Equipment: Large-scale production uses dedicated thread rolling machines or high-precision lathe turrets.
4. Heat Treatment & Finishing:. Heat Treatment: Done 100% for some high-performance nipples to improve mechanical properties and reduce intermal stress.·Surface Treatment: Includes polishing, galvanizing, or black painting depending on the material and intended use.
